Purchased a 2010 Dodge Ram 1500 from this dealer.  Paid 26k for the truck.  asked to see the carfax report and was shown a few pages showing that there was only one owner of  the truck and that the services were made at the Superstiton Springs delearship. The top part of the report was cut so I assumed that this had the prior owners information and for security reasons the page had to be cut.

I traded in my 2005 Hyundai Tuscon for the truck and got 5600 for it.  Drove the truck off the lot on April 27, 2013.

I have had the truck for just over a month and the gas mileage was getting to be too much so i decided to look into trading it off.  I went to a Honda delearship where the saleperson asked me the usual questions about the truck and then asked if the truck was in an accident which to my knowledge I truthfully stated that it has not been.  In a matter of a few minutes, the salesperson came back with a Carfax report that was 5 pages instead of 2 that I was shown back in April and there is a report that the truck was in an accident.  I was shocked and got angry as this was never disclosed to me before I purchased the truck and I would not have purchased any car/truck that has been in an accident.

I went to Superstition Springs Chrystler Jeep Dodge and talked with two managers who then stated that have contacted the General Manager and because it is Sat, I will need to wait for a call back this week to see what the research was of the accident and damage the truck had occured.

The salesperson at this delearship did not approach me and when I told the manager why I was there, the sales person left the showroom.  I'm upset because I was not provided with the full report and I feel that this wasn't right.  I wasn't given the full disclosure.

The dealership stated that the truck is a Certified Pe-Owned Ram truck and that I shouldn't have been that upset.  I stated that the truck was purchased in April and the driver side window motor was going out since day one. I did not notice this prior to purchasing due to the fact that it was extrememly hot outside and the A/C was on during the test drive. Exactly what is checked in the truck to make it certified??

The fact of the matter is, I was not given the full disclosure of the report stating that the truck was in an accident by the sales person who only showed me two pages of the report and the first page that was shown had the top portion of the report cut/removed showing that the truck had been reported as being in an accident.

The manager at Superstition Sprngs Chrysler Jeep Dodge stated that he had contacted the General Manager and that I will receive a call back this coming week.  I will keep this report updated as to what was discussed and how this will be rectified.

So Very Happy!!

AUTHOR: Blind Sided - ()

I was contacted by Ken Murray and had an appt set up today to meet with Jim Fox.  I also met with Charlie Bennett and I dove away with a 2013 Kia Sorento and returned the truck.  I felt that they understood the reason way I was not happy and did everything in their power to see that I drove away being happy.

I do not  know of any other dealership that would even take the time to research my issue and then when it was known that I just was not happy at all, to set up a time with me to come down and make me happy.

I will recommend this dealership to others as they do seem to really care about their customers and to not let one thing sway future purchases.

Updated...Still Blindsided

AUTHOR: Blind Sided - ()

wanted to update with the report with what has happened so far....

Received a call from Jim Fox at Superstition Springs Dodge stating that the GM put in a call with Carfax to find out what was reported on the accident and that he was waiting for a call back.

I have not received a call since.

The salesperson name is James Wierkland (Wierklund) the paperwork from the dealer does not have his name.  Jim Fox is the manager at the dealership. I still have yet to receive a call from the General Manager, Ken (the last name escapes me at  this moment, will update with that information)

Not a Lemon issue

AUTHOR: Blind Sided - ()

Thank you for the reply.  The truck isn't a lemon and there is an extended warranty plus a Lifetime Powertrain Warranty and the truck is Certified PreOwned so the statement of "As Is" isn't an issue.

The issue is with not supplying the full disclosure and using the report to sell the truck but did not disclose the full information.

a good chance...

AUTHOR: Tyg - ()

Theres a good chance that there is no resolution for you on this. As it was a used vehicle, you technically purchased it "AS IS". SO any problems that arise from this after your purchase, the dealership can and will deny  ANY claim. As for the CarFax, yes it is shady, but you can also ask for a crafax from any dealership. I believe you can also go there yourself and for a fee get that information. The problem is all they have to say is they showed you the carfax and you purchased it anyways. Its your word against thiers. Unless you can provide proof that you were not shown the whole report or you have immediate documentation such as witness statements, then the main corporation is also going to deny you any relief in the situation.

Whenevr you buy ANYTHING used there is always something wrong. It doesnt matter how certified it is. The only SURE way to bypass this is to purchase a NEW car. You might be able to trade in your current vehicle towards another one. You might also check the "Lemon Laws" in your state. You may be able to get relief by pointing out that law to the dealership. As Carfax has the dates listed on it, you can prove that they did indeed sell you a lemon. Be prepared for a long and stressful fight. The customer is no longer right anymore as the customer has screwed itself by commiting every level of fraud available on retail businesses. If this isnt fraud then you should be able to get this situation resolved.
