Before I was terminated I worked for Swift Transportation for 9 mos. . I was in Long Beach, CA. when I was pulled over for an unsafe turn. No one was hurt, or killed and there was no damage  to the vehicle or any objects. But I was cited. A long Beach police officer cited me for the following.. "unsafe turn", "truck routing" and vehicle not "insured or registered".
Part of the the benefits for working for Swift is they will pay any tickets or citations, but they will take it out of your check. Which is fine, if your at fault. However I will admit that I should only be held responsible for only one of  three citations. And Swift should be responsible for the other citations.
Needless to say, I ended up paying for all three citations. A $1,500 fine due to Swifts incompetence and negligence.
Swift routed me the fuel route, and they are responsible for registering and insuring their vehicles I turned in all my tickets and citations so that they can rectify or fix anything on there behalf. But before they would take care it, they fired me. So now I was stuck paying for these fines. Having going through license suspensions. I could not obtain any endorsements. I was facing jail time and warrants. Not to mention the emotional burdens on my self and my family.
I have several friends that I made while I worked for Swift, I still keep in contact with them to this day.
And they all have had similar situations happen to them and their friends. And they all have agreed with me and several more of their friends would agree, that Swift is NOT the place to work if you want to be a Truck Driver. My friends were also wrongfully discharged from the same company.
I am currently seeking help to sue them so I can be compensated for my losses.
I know there are many victims out there with more cases that go unreported. There is nothing worse, than feeling helpless.

If this is all the help or support you can offer, I would rather you to please not respond at all to my complaints. First of all you did not inquire for any information about my situation. And for your information I had all my credentials and they were all valid and current. I handed the officer my insurance and registration. He said he could still not find me in there system. They were not expired. And If I was at fault for managing my books, don't you think the officer would had said something?!?!?! You retard. You are so stupid. He never asked me for my books have you ever thought of that. Cause I don't think you thought this all the way through. Here is some advice. Please think things through before you respond to anyones complaints or distress. Your support is neither wanted or valid. Due to lack of brains and common sense. I was on the route they gave me arshole. Did you not read my statement? Or maybe you don't know how to read. If that is the case maybe you shouldn't be driving and giving bad advice. Maybe thats why your still a trucker.

I did follow Swifts routing directions. Did you read that part?? I think maybe you must have misunderstood what I was trying to say, because only a retard would come of the wall with those kind of remarks. By the way retard Swift is responsible for paying for their insurance and registration. What part of that do you not understand?? It's to bad stupidity does not hurt, cause I bet you would be in pain all the time. ha ha ha ha ha

AUTHOR: Just another trucker - (United States of America)

Driver,

I have worked in the trucking industry for 20 plus years. Your complaint does not hold water due to: Drivers are responsible for "all" citations which includes having a current registration and insurance form in the truck. Every trucking company out there requires the driver to manage his or her permit book and notify the permit department of anything that will expire each month. All you need to do, before you go to court is contact the company permits department, tell them you are going to court for a citation and they should fax you a copy of a current insurance card and registration. A big company like Swift automatically renews the insurance and registrations prior to expiring. You may be at fault due to your failure to manage your book. As for routing: If your driving a truck and your not checking your own route is accurate, you don't need to be driving! If the route your given (fuel route) says to drive into the ocean, are you going to do it? The answer is "no". Why? Your a proffessional driver and you are expected (By the law) to operate like one. The key to your success and future in trucking is: Manage yourself and your responsibilities, so it does not cost you a paycheck. With the new CSA rules, you must be a safe driver, the only person that can control this is you! signed A fellow driver.
