Ripoff Report Verified™ REVIEW:

Editor’s UPDATE: A positive rating and recognition has been given to Symmetry Financial Group for their above average commitment to making the insurance business profitable for both agents and agency builders.

Ripoff Report’s discussions with SFG have uncovered a genuine enthusiasm by the company to uphold this commitment. Agents with Symmetry can expect that the company will work towards providing not only the best opportunities available, but will do so with the highest levels of integrity and knowledge.  SFG leadership has drawn upon over 100 years of cumulative experience in the insurance industry and have pooled their expertise to create a model that is truly revolutionary.

Symmetry Financial Group stated that they are truthfully committed to sharing the wealth of opportunity, all while delivering high levels of service and training to their sales forces.  As successful businessmen, SFG’s owners know that this philosophy is a key component to ensuring short-term and long-term success in any business.

A top manager with Symmetry recently said this of the company’s leadership, “Having come from the largest financial institution in the United States, where leadership was talked about often but rarely developed, I have been extremely impressed by not only the leaders of the company but how often they are speaking of and implementing growth all the way down to an individual level.”

Symmetry Financial Group is Rip-off Report Verified
Ripoff Report Verified™ .. part of Ripoff Report Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation & Customer Satisfaction Program. A program that benefits the consumer, assures them of complete satisfaction and confidence when doing business with a member business..

..The information provided in this report is based on comments made by Casey Watkins and Brandon Ellison during an on-site inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward Symmetry Financial Group.

Symmetry Financial Group (SFG) is a company that gains access to public records such as loans that were financed and data from certain age groups.  The company’s target market for clients would be people who have financed loans, recent home buyers, and people who are between the ages of 55-80 who want to make sure burial expenses are taken care of with retirement protection. Brandon stated, “Seniors are outliving their money.”  The company works with agents who are self-motivated and want to make money part time or full time.  Symmetry Financial Group feels they are a franchise opportunity with a much lower cost which sets them apart from others.

The company sends out forms from a mail house explaining what their product are and if customer is interested they will fill form out and mail it back in with information such as age, race, height weight, and smoking status, etc. An agent can then purchase that lead from SFG for a cost of $16-$42.  The agent can then set up a meeting with the client or customer and explain potential options for coverage.  Leads are generated by the forms that are returned from potential customers.  These leads are then purchased by agents and the agents then make contact with the potential customer.  The process for closing a sale is based on the client dealing with the agent and then agreeing on a policy that works for that client.

An agent never has to buy leads from Symmetry Financial Group.  Every time an agent does purchase a lead, its costs SFG money.  However, sales are much less likely without these leads.  An agent’s main goal in working with the company is to sell insurance to people and families that need these services.  If an agent never wants to buy build a lead.  Their main job is to sell product. Casy Watkins states, “SFG does not pay agents.  Commissions pass through insurance companies.  SFG does offer incentives but that’s the only payment SFG has with agents.” The company states they try to get the message out to everyone that all leads will not turn into sales and that you must have thick skin.  All leads have potential but are not guaranteed.

The company states “Very few promises are made to agents; SFG promises to treat everyone fairly and promise not to take money from them.  Agents will be released as long as agents do not owe SFG money and allowed to sell for other people.  Clients are not promised anything from SFG because SFG is the ‘middle-man.’” Brandon Ellison went onto explain that as an agent working for SFG one may promise a client to always answer any questions they may have regarding their business, however SFG itself does not promise anything to clients.  When a client is not happy with their expectations, SFG will work with client to produce refunds if necessary, however this is rare.  SFG will talk to agent and client and figure out best solution to remedy the problem.

Internally, the company is working to set the correct expectations and establish more training while getting agents to understand their role and that they represent Symmetry Financial Group. The company states that many complaints come from agents and setting better expectations can help with this.  They are making active approaches to remedy concerns and working to create better hands on training and software to get reports out faster to agents.  The company is also focused on getting agents to be more business minded and managing expectations.

Symmetry Financial Group states that because there are so many agents and managers, the company rarely sees complaints.  Sometimes clients will complain to SFG for something that the Insurance Company messed up; however this is not SFG’s problem in almost all cases.  They stated that complaints are resolved by talking to the client and explaining the issue to them in a non-defensive manner.  Agents will complain to SFG that that they are trying to make money selling leads. However, SFG actually loses money selling leads and would rather agents attain these leads on their own to save costs, but the leads are there for the agents if needed.

Casey Watkins stated that, “Complaints on Ripoff Report were factually not true in many instances.” Furthermore, he emphasized complaints on Ripoff Report are not possible to resolve.  A recent complaint involved a misunderstanding between an insurance company and client where insurance company was drafting a premium and the client did not want the policy anymore. A miscommunication lead to the policy not being canceled and client was unhappy.  They stated that many of these types of complaints are outside the control of SFG; however SFG will do whatever they can to make clients happy.  SFG in this instance personally got on the phone with the client and explained to them it was a misunderstanding and that the issue had been resolved. Mr. Watkins stated “Complaints from clients at SFG is like buying a Toyota and the alternator goes out. It’s not really the dealerships fault that this happened. It is more the manufacturer of the Toyota, however many people need someone to blame.”

Furthermore, the main thing that SFG tries to explain to their employees is that they are in the service industry and to not be argumentative while always doing what’s best for client.  Some complaints from clients are from agents losing their tempers and maybe arguing and upsetting clients.  The company tries to remind agents to take a deep breath and don’t get emotionally involved.  SFG regularly checks up on agents to ensure satisfactory service is being rendered.

Symmetry Financial Group stated that they have not changed much because the complaints on Ripoff Report as the complaints are not addressing changes the company can make. They state there is no validity to the complaints that are out there now.  Employees are taught to treat all clients with the utmost respect.  All SFG can talk to the agents and tell them they represent the company, however, the reality is SFG cannot control every single agent and sometimes clients become unhappy.  Agents are very competitive and take it personal when they are being outdone by a fellow co-worker.  They stated that SFG continues to get better and hiring quality agents which is the easiest way to ensure customer satisfaction.

The company states they are happy to be a part of the Corporate Advocacy Business Remediation and Customer Satisfaction Program because it allows customers to get to know SFG better and to see the truth about the company who they are.  However, they feel that up to this point Ripoff Report has been one sided and is inaccurate thus far.  If it gives SFG the opportunity to turn negatives to positives they are very happy with it.

Statements from Symmetry Financial Group

Symmetry’s field agents often express the confidence they have in the system in place. One new SFG agent said, “The great mentoring and support, humble leadership, great system, and abundant resources I’ve found with SFG saved me from leaving the insurance industry”.  This is one of the many positive feedbacks we received while conducting research on Symmetry and very in tune with what other agents have to say.

Symmetry Financial Group is serious about providing a unique and genuine opportunity.  Employee feedback and surveys continuously produce reports similar to the following, "SFG is the perfect vehicle for me to help people, not just through insurance but by empowering them to have their own company."  Rip-off Report was also pleased to learn that SFG’s past and current approach to business is focused on its pledge to its agents success.  When we asked employees what advise they had for upper management, these are some of the responses, “I appreciate all you do for us and your willingness to put your time and energy to help us become better. The system you have in place is allowing me to do what I was meant to do!” and “Keep the innovative thought process coming for our industry”

STATED IMPROVEMENTS FROM SYMMETRY FINANCIAL GROUP.

Symmetry Financial Group recognizes that complaints posted on Ripoff Report (whether true or not) are issues requiring attention and are not to be ignored.  When handled correctly, complaints are valuable learning opportunities. With the feedback generated by Rip-off Report’s Investigation, Symmetry Financial Group has examined every complaint independently and worked to resolve and/or clarify where any issue may have stemmed from.

In summary, after Ripoff Reports investigation and 3rd party review, which included discussions with Symmetry’s owners, Ripoff Report is convinced that SFG is committed to providing a quality and beneficial service to its employees and clients.

Symmetry Financial Group NAA and Ed Orell Don't be fooled, they want to sell you leads and sign you up. Your the prospect not the Employee. Lake Worth, Florida

I have received several calls from them offering a job, one as Symmetry Financial Group the other as the Wilson Group.  Another time they called as the NAA.  If you look up the whois database for their webpage, sfgleads.com they started this website on Oct of 2009, not very long ago.  Both in Symmetry Financial Group and NAA I found Ed Orell's name listed.  They want to sell you leads and can cost you a lot of money if sold at $20-$25 per lead.  A telemarketer at $10/hr producing only 2 leads per hour, they profit $15-$20/ lead.  Get 2000 unemployed people to sign up who cares about selling product.  Do the Math.  $15 profit per lead, 6 leads per day is $90.  Only using 240 working days is $21,600 per agent in profit, times 2000 agents is $43,200,00. in profit.  I love Ripoff Reports.  As another person put it, same sh*t different toilet.

Leads

AUTHOR: froze - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, February 28, 2013

I just laugh whenever I read about someone complaining about leads, and or the cost of leads, and or the leads are a ripoff.  Are there ripoff leads?  Sure, most phone generated leads by a call bank are a rip off, the caller needed to fill a quota for the day so they fake leads.  Mail generated leads are not that way, a person received some information regarding insurance filled out the card and return it, plainly knowing that someone will call them to set up an appointment.

The only way a mail generated lead could be a rip off is if it had been ran several times by other sales people with no resulting sales, then it's given to another sales person with claims it's a fresh warm lead.  That does happen with a lot of lead generation programs or companies who have the leads and lie to the agents about the freshness of it.

Sales people who think these leads are a rip off are sales people who simply cannot sell and should drive a truck for living or some such thing!  I know that sounds harsh to some you, but the facts are facts.  Those who can sell do not think paying for warm leads is a rip off because they know it's difficult to get quality warm leads, and get enough of them to make a living.  Any company that offers a warm lead generation program like the one being discussed here has every right to charge for that lead to prevent loser sales people, like the ones complaining here, from burning up good leads; the charge for the lead helps to discourage the losers from working there so they'll leave to make room for those who can sell and don't mind spending the money to make more money.

If you spend $100 for 5 leads and sell 2 a week (which in my opinion is a bad closing ratio for warm leads) you would still make the industry average of $300 in commission per sale, thus you take home $500 after paying for the leads, not bad for just 5 appointments or what I would consider to be part time work, and that income is without up selling and without getting referrals!

Unfortunately most people hired by insurance companies cannot sell, and so you get mass hiring going on, this is done by ALL insurance companies, it's the old saying in the industry...you keep throwing mud on a silicone wall and wait to see what sticks.

And for those of you looking at this information on this site for the first time and are considering life insurance sales, keep in mind that life insurance pays renewal commissions year after year, not a lot, about 3%, but it adds up over the years, and with most companies you're vested after usually 5 years which means you keep getting the renewals even after you leave.

People who come to places like this to whine and cry about leads are people who simply cannot sell, they have no excuses, and should be ignored by others coming here to get the facts.

This guy's full of it. Obviously you were a rejected applicant. You don't even have a clue how the company operates, yet your ranting an raving on here screwing with people heads, all the while counting the lent in your pockets.
Ed is just ONE employee out of thousand. Through his hard work he has been promoted to manager aka Agency Director of a SINGLE office, out of the many throughout the nation.
Like you said you LOVE Ripoff Report...I wonder how many other companies you took the time to bash, waiting for your 8 hour limit to pass.
PS.. If Ed is a P.O.S. and NAA, and SFG, and obviously you claim to know the intricate history of all three, YET you still applied to SFG and dealt with Ed....what type of P.O.S are you??? The lowest Scum of the Earth...real smart.

POSTED: Monday, February 06, 2012

I stated he was a director of SFG, it is clearly stated in his video.  You can go to the link previously posted but I guess you couldn't be bothered.  Just to see if you follow, it's the last video and let's see if you can get it correct this time, http://www.sfgleads.com/testimonials.aspx  Let's not get re-directed, SFG sells leads to the people they hire to the tune of a lot of money.  Great concept but I just can't make money that way. Anyone that reads these and previous notes can see which way the wind blows. We get it, do you?  If you can get to management, sign up lots of unemployed Americans (if they make money or not it's not your problem) and make a lot of money doing that, I believe you might be able to live in the big house on the hill next to the lake.  Please read the book "Where have all the leaders gone" by Lee IacoccaIf.  The problem I have is when executives hide, say they aren't affiliated with a company that has bad reviews, and well I won't go into the rest of the BS.  I grew up in a period of an honest day's work for an honest day's wage.  I'm sure this is a concept that is unknown to you.  I can appreciate the last comment, it is more professional than prior comments that smack of high school verbal fights.  Is this what our country has become??????

1) I don't think you are the right person to be correcting grammatical errors. Start by proofreading your own comments.
2) Ed is a director, and an excellent one. Since my sports analogy confused you, let me spell it out. Ed is not one of the owners.
3) Ed does not work for "Bernie".
4) The complaints you refer to are against a company named "Symmetry Direct" It has zero affiliation with Symmetry Financial Group. Does this confuse you?
5) With all of your ranting and personal attacks, you still haven't stated anything of substance.
6) I'm still waiting for that job offer from that superior company you created!

Let's take it one step at a time.

Employee #3 when you say noone cares, misspelled, everyone cares about the job they are considering unless they are a sociopath.

If you took the time to watch the video before responding you would have know " Ed Orell stating he is the DIRECTOR of Symmetry Financial Group as of Jan 26th, 2012" a clear statement not relevant to all of the other sport  rhetoric you post.  You said "Send your personal hate mail to Ed, and let the rest of us continue to earn an honest living helping protect families.""Bernie" Madoff" made a living and it seemed honest until the tide went out and everyone could see he had no clothes.  The only hate being posted is on your end, this is a forum of exploration and information.

Next:
"The only complaint I ever heard about SFG is from you."

You can go to http://www.ripoffreport.com/directory/Symmetry.aspx for additional information or go to Google and search "symmetry financial group scam" for more information.

Employee #4
If you would have read Employee #3 he states "I understand you have some personal issue with Ed, and frankly noone cares. Because someone is affiliated with a company does not make him owner."  You said "He (Ed Orell?) isnt looking for a guy that is going to come on here and complain!" Which is it?? In some business's they call this the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

Conclusion:
I was so thankful for the rebuttals, it seems to be apparent that if you are impressed with the comments from the employees from this company, this truly is a company for you.  Hate mail "go work for geico wimp" Employee #4.
Geico was was founded in 1936 and your website, "domain: symmetryfinancialgroup.com
created: 18-Nov-2009
last-changed: 18-Nov-2011
registration-expiration: 18-Nov-2012"!!!!!!  Your company seems to have such a long track record.

Other comments bring me to the understanding of what this company really stands for.  If their employees were diligent, educated, and work for a better life in America for the Americans they represent we might have had a different level of rebuttal.  I really hope they don't represent Americans.

I understand you have some personal issue with Ed, and frankly noone cares. Because someone is affiliated with a company does not make him owner. Jason Garrett is the coach of the Dallas Cowboys. I guess you think he is the owner too then. He used to play for the Giants too. Does that mean the Cowboys are just like the Giants, and have just changed the name? Your logic is presumed and faulty. The only complaint I ever heard about SFG is from you. And all you complain about is Ed. If he goes to work at a homeless shelter, are you going to bash them too? Do us all a favor. Send your personal hate mail to Ed, and let the rest of us continue to earn an honest living helping protect families.

When the Lie's so big

Go to:  http://www.sfgleads.com/testimonials.aspx and the last video is Ed Orell stating he is the DIRECTOR of Symmetry Financial Group as of Jan 26th, 2012 at 8:56pm .  I really don't care about your income, this forum is designed to inform new employees of what they might expect.  I listen to what you say only to a point in which I find conflict with your information and what your company posted to YOUR website and the affiliation you deny.  "Let me offer the facts to those who aren't blinded from the tears.  Symmetry Financial Group is NOT affiliated in any way with NAA.  The Wilson Group is with NAA, not SFG" and legally you should be correct.  Follow the rabbit and where does he run?  Nothing wrong with a new company and a new web site.  Nothing wrong with a new business.   But what about the same business practices under a new name doing the same business they have been doing all along with lots of complaints only to hide under a different name???  I am asking the question.  If you are an agent or managing partner for this firm, you might want to ask yourself "If I'm making this much money for this company, do I really want to move forward in this rebuttal and possibly risk my license with the insurance board for false statements."  The The Sarbanes-Oxley Act might make you think twice about your write it regret it formula.  I encourage all to investigate companies offering employment.

The Truth Regarding Symmetry Financial Group

AUTHOR: Christian - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 24, 2012

My condolences about your breakup with Ed Orell.  I'm sure you had a wonderful relationship together, and your heart was broken after a short fling.  But don't take out your heartache and pain on the family by making up lies and talking about things you clearly do not understand.  Let me offer the facts to those who aren't blinded from the tears.  Symmetry Financial Group is NOT affiliated in any way with NAA.  The Wilson Group is with NAA, not SFG.  So get it right.  The website was started in Oct 2009, because that is when SFG was formed.  Is this a problem?  Is it a bad thing when a young company goes from 0 to over 600,000 annual premium in two years?  By the way, in order to produce that type of production, the agents need to be helping a LOT of people.  So it's great for the client, and great for the agent, and great for our carriers.  Here is another lie.  SFG does not have telemarketed leads, as you would imply.  They do direct mail only to generate a fresh lead.  If you have been in the insurance industry for more than 5 minutes, you know that it does indeed cost money to gather data, send out huge amounts of mailers, and distribute leads to agents.  It costs roughly 45-50 dollars to generate a hot, direct mail lead.  The agent only pays half of that cost.  So who exactly is making money on leads???  The only free lead source I know of is referrals and cold calling.  But most agents who rely on just that for their lead source are frustrated and broke.  Those are also the same people that tend to distribute false information about reputable companies to anyone who will listen.  How about this.  I produce 15k-20k in AP per month.  When you start YOUR company that provides me with FREE, fresh, direct mail leads, and will start me out on a 100% contract level, and allow me to build a 100,000 AVP agency in 1 year, give me a call. I'd be happy to take that deal, but as far as I know, it doesn't exist.  When were you planning on doing that?  Until then, maybe spend less time fabricating numbers, and more time checking facts.
