On March 18, 2010 I recieved a knock at my door. There was a teenage boy standing there asking if I would be interested in helping our United States Military troops that have been deployed over seas. I proceeded to ask what exactly it was I was required to do and the boy said, request a magazine subscription that would be sent to a soldier to keep them entertained and up to date with things that are going on back home in the states to bring a little comfort while they are away. He told me that he is with an orginization that would help our troops and he mentioned that he also has a chance to win a trip to Europe with a group of Kids for educational purposes.

The boy had a great attitude and seemed to have a large amount of concern and interest in our Country and Military Soldiers. He actually portrayed himself to be very genuine.

There was also, what I believed to be a supervisor walking around with other children.. some much younger than the teenage boy that came to my door, in the town home complex. The boy also mentioned that there was a bit of a contest between some of the other kids to make it a little more fun for them.

The boy then asked if I would be so kind to give him a glass of water. I never allowed him in my home, but i did get him a bottle of water. He then went on to explain that I would recieve a picture from a soldier that I supported as well as a letter. It wasn't that I needed the picture or letter, I just believed in doing something to give back to our troops for all they do. Boy was I fooled!

The little boy made it sound so good. I wrote a check and felt like I did some good for a deserving person. Moments later another little girl came to the door requesting the same, I explained I already signed up with a boy just before her. The boy even mentioned having a personalized check( one with a picture of scene on the check) would mean more for their group contest. He also requested to place a sticker over my doorbell with his name on it so other's knew he had been there.

This is a huge scam! I never recieved a picture or letter from any soldier! However, I did recieve NUMEROUS magazines from Muscle and fitness and SHAPE .. they never went to any soldier.. this is a pathetic scam from pathetic people that use children and kind hearted people. Can you Imagine using our Military????? What kind of inhuman being would do such a thing?
