Synchrony Bank doesn't care what type of hardship a customer of 6 years go through, you need to give them the money. I've had death of a grandchild, diagnosed with Breast Cancer then my home flooded where I am staying in a Hotel. I've notified them on each ocassion and customer services is awful. they transfer you back into the same queue. In addition, customers are told one thing and you call back there isn't any documentation and/or the next agent says the information given is incorrect. I called Synchrony Bank to see they would allow me to skip May 2016 payment or make the payment on the May30th. This was so I could concentrate on repairing my home. They told me the payment couldn't skipped but they would document the records. Also, they would waived the late fee and would correct my credit report if there was a problem.

Since I knew I could pay them on May 267th for the May 27th., I used the hotel wi-fi to setup payment for both Lowes and Chevron. In a hurry to meet the contractors, I didn't go back to check so I got off to allow other customer use it. I realized later I may have schedule payment too early. When I went back in the payment was processing but for May 26th instead of May 27th. I immediately notified them by email and called them but they were closed. Instead find out how they help customer have a hardship with their payments, they closed both accounts. It strange that all my other creditor outside Synchrony bank worked me and some reaged my acount to bring it current.

Synchrony Bank has policies , procedures and the worse customer service representatives. They're worried about Average Handle Time instead of First Call Resolution. This bank processes for a lot credit cards so before anyone apply for a credit card.....please DO NOT APPLY IF SYNCHRONY BANK is the credit card processor.

Not a RipOff..

AUTHOR: Robert - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 31, 2016

First off I am not going to go into your Soap Opera of a life.  Not that it isn't unfortunate, not that I don't care, but it does not matter.

If another company comes to your house, makes you dinner, forgives your entire debt, and gives you an additional 1 million dollars does not mean that any other company that doesn't do the same thing is a RipOff.  Is this a bit of an exaggeration..of course.  But hopefully you get the point.  No where in your credit agreement says that they have to make any sort of "arrangements" for you, if you can't or won't make your payment.  If one(or more) creditors do then great for them.  But it doesn't mean that the one(s) that don't are a RipOff..they are just holding you to the legal agreement you signed.  Tough..yes but no one ever said life was always going to be easy.

As for your "6 year" credit history with them.  Let me guess..you have made all of your payments on time and think that they now somehow "owe" you.  Well guess what, you don't get a gold star for doing what you are supposed to be doing...making your payments on time.  You don't get brownie points for paying more than the minimum payment.

However, it is very unlikely that you are telling the entire story.  As it is extreamly rare for a company to close out an account for a single late payment.  After all that is more fees and likely more interest if they keep the account open.  As if it was really all about the money, they would keep the account open.  So there is probably a lot more to your "history" than you are telling here and a lot of that history is probably not in your favor.  But even on the off chance you have the world's best credit history, a company can still close your acccount out at any time and for any reason...oh and yes YOU agreed to this when you opened the account.

Oh and before you say it..no I do not now or have I ever worked for this or any other credit card company.
