Synnd.com, Synnd or otherwise known as Social Media Science is a company that provides social syndication services to promote websites through social media. You buy a set of credits and get Facebook likes, Twitter Tweets and bookmarkings.
First, their software is extremely awkward and clumsy. The dashboard, interface and usability is horrible seems to be programmed from the era of the video game "Pong" or at best early internet era of 1995. There is no way to know that until you pay your "non-refundable" 30 days and get shocked you just got ripped off and/or have to spend hours just to figure the basics of how to use the thing.
I've been programming websites for 10 years and very computer savvy, so trust me when I say it is not userfriendly and huge waste of your time and money.
Just to use it you need to watch at least 1.5 hours of video just to learn the very basics of how to set up your account and get a simple, bare bones social media campaign going. You don't know they dropped this bomb on you until you've paid for 30 days of their service in advance.
When I had questions and not 3-10 hours to watch their training tutorials and blog posts about how to use their services, I emailed them through their "contact us" form. I received a reply email back 2 business days later from someone who told me to watch the horrible video I already watch that did not help 2 days ago!
This whole this is a total scam. I paid for a software service that is incredibly poorly designed, not user friendly and wastes many hours of an internet marketers and entrepreneurs time to figure out. Then they do NOT support or help you with their own software. They give you another link to their tutorials and pdfs and tell you to figure it out.
I found this a fraud. I complained and asked what their phone number is and I want to talk to a manager or responsible party from Synnd.com and Social Media Science. The same guy who answered me the first time told me he is the owner of the company, there are no refunds and no phone number.
He stated if I try to cancel charges with my credit card he'll send me to a collection agency!
I have told Social Media Science (SMS) and Synnd to cancel my account and NOT keep charging me through the email address they have on file. They refuse to cancel the autobilling. For the last 6 months they keep charing my credit card. I have disputed this for fraud with my credit card company. However, they keep on charging my card each month despite my numerous emails to their owner and supposed only customer service person.
Recently, I was at a national social media conference where I spoke in front of over 700 social media and SEO marketers explaining the fraud and scam Social Media Science and Synnd have going. I was taken aback to hear from many other social marketers that they have gone through similar experiences and been ripped by Synnd (SMS).
One person stated the had to ask their credit card company to reissue a new credit card number because Synnd kept autobilling them each month despit having clearly cancelled the monthly service. Then they recieved this email after months of trying to cancel services and changing their credit card number:

Note: If you intended to cancel your account, please contact us to pay your outstanding balance. Unpaid balances may be sent to a collections agency.
So in summary here is what Synnd.com and Social Media Science is doing to hundreds if not thousands of people:
1.) They are providing a horrible and extremely difficult software to use that they do not provide any help or support for.
2.) When you contact them you get a snobby, rude guy who is apparently the owner and founder who bluntly tells you to go watch their tutorials and pdfs to figure it out on your own.
3.) When you try to cancel it they threaten you that they will send you to a collection agency even though you don't owe them anything and they just want to keep billing you month after month. It is scam business run by professional criminals.
4.) Numerous of other internet marketers have told me similar horror stories about Synnd and Social Media Science. They ask to be cancelled from the month autobilling, but get a dumb and unhelpful reply from the same guy and founder who then never cancels your autobilling. My colleagues stated even though they cancel charges with their credit card company and even change their credit card number they get threatening and illegal emails from Synnd threatening they will go to a collection agency and invent they have "outstanding bills" to pay.
5.) Our firm has retained a top law firm here in Chicago and are in the process of contacting the Kanas Attorney General's Office, the FTCE (Federal Trade Commission) and local law enforcement in Witchita.
We have collected all these threatening email from Synnd and Social Media Science as documentation that has been shared with business regulatory officials. Documention includes proof services were cancelled over and over again by email and they keep autobilling customers and threatening collection agencies to scam you out of thousands of dollars.
6) If you have been ripped off and scammed by Synnd.com and Social Media Science file a charge back/dispute with your credit card company for fraud and unauthorized charges, second get a new credit card issued so they can't keep autobilling you each month. Third, contact the Better Business Bureau and alert them you've been defrauded, complain to the Kanas Attorney General's offic and third call the FTC immediately to report this fraud so more social media marketers and syndicators don't get scammed.
Sham on your Synnd.com and Social Media Science for your defective social media syndication software design, no support on this disaster interface you created, for continuing to autobill hundreds of people after they put their cancellation request in writing to you and then threatening to send them to a collection agency when their is no bill or money due!
