My phone bill for three phones with Cricket was 135.00 a month. I wanted better service or the same for less money. T Mobile said they could make my bill about 115.00 a month. So even with their outragous prices of their phones we switched and it became a 2 year contract. We bought two phones. They charged 2 activation fees of 35.00 each and said it would be rebated. A month later my son's blackberry took a dump so we went a purchased him another phone. They did not activate it, my son did.But they charged yet another 35.00 activation fee. They convinced us to get the larger data plan for him and to keep it two months and I would be able to downgrade him to free data and get 100.00 rebate. It never came. I'm on the phone with them all the time about the charges and lack of credits or rebates. My bills are between 160 and 400 a month now. When they downgraded his data it wasn't free its 10.00 more a month. We both, my husband and I, both have internet but we can't use it. It doesn't work. The phones don't work in the house or alot of places when they do work they loose the calls. They mailed on two occassions replacement phones. One arrived without a functional screen. They didn't bother to tell us there was a 20.00 per phone processing fee either. We want out of the contract. I've seen my phone on the internet for a few bucks, NOT 200. They won't take their phones back. They want 400 to pay off phones that don't work. Every company has spots where their phones don't work but I have to borrow other peoples phones to call to find someone who is also using a cell phone. Last month they gave me 180.00 credit towards the 100 rebate and other errors. But its not on my credits that disappeared. My bill is 165 this month. With all the credits that keep going away and the hassle of calling every month for hours on end REALLY HOURS! They should take back their crappy phones and take their HOODIE credits and put it toward the balance on the phones and call it a DAY. By the way I never had these problems with Cricket and I had free 411 calls.

It unfortunate that you are having these issues. I can give you information to help fix the problem but you are in a 2 year contract. It wont matter what you yell and scream, youre stuck untill its over or you pay the ETF. Cellphone companies have taken a much stronger stance in reguards to contract phones.

1. Every carrier has a activation fee. This fee is NOT to activate your phone, but to offset the costs of putting your phone on thier network.

2. You can increase the reception you recieve in your house by simply getting a $10 antenna enhancer. You can find them online, I tend to use FRYS website as they give a couple of different styles. This will give you a few extra bars in areas you have little or none.

3. The phones you were sent were "remanufactured" phones. This is the same as a NEW used car. There was a problem with the handset but they think they fixed it and then use these to fulfill other bad phone issues.

4. Sometimes if youre nice enough to the ppl on the other line, you might be able to ask for a device that will increase the reception in your home. I know Sprint has such a device. It costs roughly $100, but im sure you can talk them into giving it to you for a discounted rate or free.

5. Use your home wifi when at home to make calls. There are plenty of ways to use your existing home network to increase your call quality.

6. Contact and file a grievence with the FCC. This is the cellphone carrier boss. They may be able to help you get better phones. They wont be able to get you out of your contract. They can only deal with the communication aspect of your issue.

Last but not the least...... dont be a a*s. These ppl have to take your type of calls ALL DAY. Yes they understand how upset you are. Yes they understand your mad. DONT TAKE IT OUT ON THEM. If your nice to them and treat them as HUMAN BEINGS and not your personal verbal whipping post because youre unhappy, you may find that they are more helpful then you have been normally getting.

Personally, the carrier insurance is a joke. They have you paying a arm and a leg for a warrenty where all they give you is another broken phone. My favorite warrenty is radio shacks. If you have to redeem your warrenty through them, they just give you a NEW phone.

Good Luck
