T-Mobile is such a money pit! I had trouble paying my bill over the course of 3 months, I had 3 lines on one phone, every month they would shut it off, for non payment, when I would go to pay, they would charge me $20 per line re connect fee, or $60 to turn phone on. I mean talk about really taking advantage of someone when they are in a tight spot. Also, did you notice you can never use customer service unless your bill is paid in full? every time I needed to talk to them, all they do is hustle you for money. That one day, I was on with customer service, I was asking what services I could take off to lower my bill, the conversation was going nice, until I said I cant wait until my contract is over, I am sick of all your fees. This guy instantly turned into Satan, and started saying, well fine, go to another company, I will cancel you now, and charge you the $600 early termination fee. I was shocked by his instant flip out, I said I dont think we are going to resolve anything, at this point, could I speak to a supervisor? he goes why dont you just pay your bill on time? or I will cancel you right now, come on I will cancel you now, and charge you$600, I kept asking for a supervisor, and he would just repeat himself over ond over. I finaly got a supervisor, and he only could say his conduct was unacceptable, sorry. Please do not use T-Mobile they are money suckers, and their service is not that hot.

I don't understand

I do understand that times are hard out there and that is why T-Mobile allows seasonal suspensions that you can set up for ninety days and only have to pay 10.00 a month and taxes. What you seem to be saying though is that T-Mobile charged you what they charge all of their customers when they don't pay for the services that are rendered and the account is suspended. In fact, we don't just suspend you directly from the start. we partially suspend you and for this you aren't charged. This suspension allows calls to come in but does not allow you to make calls out to anyone but 611. This is supposed to get you to call us so we won't have to suspend you. Then when that doesn't work we fully suspend the account.
You can do the suspension once your bill is paid though you aren't able to use your service it would certainly make things easier for you or you can set up payment arrangments which do place a certain amount of hold on the account which allow you to catch up with your bill.

Valid?

I Don't work for them(or any other Cell Phone company) however there are some points you are missing.

The biggest point is that you are not required to get a contract. You could have gone with a Pay-As-You-Go type of plan. Would the rates been as good..No, would you have gotten a discounted price on the phone..No. But you would not have been subject to any early termination fees either. In the end it was your choice to sign up or not sign up for a contract.

As for the "kick you while your down". "Does it really cost $60.00 to reconnect this line?"
- Probably not, but that is what YOU agreed to when you got the phone. You didn't seem to have an issue with the $60 when you got the phone, or you wouldn't have signed the contract.

As for "loosing" calls. If you put your cell phone number in the ad and you were not able to receive calls they would have gone to voice mail. You can get your VM messages from ANY phone by just calling your number. So would it have been inconvienient yes, would you have lost them..No

You will find no other company who does not do the same thing if you get a contract. Which is interesting because I also noticed that you also have a report on Sprint.

So were they any better?

First, I am sure you work for them, and thank you for being professional, in your response, you could be a jerk and hide behind the internet.I just feel, its common sense if a customer is having a hard time with paying the bill, and trying to work with the company, why would you kick them while they are down, by slaming with a $60.00 fee. Does it really cost $60.00 to reconnect this line? also, I have 3 phones, they are junk, every call is a echo, they are the cheap, probably cost the company less than $20.00 for them. So over $600.00 for early termination? and thats not a ripp off? not to mention I lost 6 days of service, while they were painting a tower, I had just put a $75.00 add in the paper for puppies, lost those calls, and then they would not reimburse me those days, because the company can have reasonable outages. 6 days reasonable? and I have to pay for that? not a ripp off? I am not feeling the warmth of this company.

$60.00 re-connect fee? not a ripp off?

Hi, I just read what you had said, I can see what you are saying, but is it really a great idea, to charge $60.00 to a person who is strugling to pay the bill? I cant believe they want $600.00 early termination fee, these phones are garbage, they probably cost the company about $20.00 to make. Plus every call I get, its nothing but a echo.Last summer my phones would not dial out. I noticed that if I drove several blocks from my home they would work. I called the company at least 15 times to resolve this. Finaly 6 days later, they work again. I was then told that they were painting a tower, and the signal was not strong enough for everyone.I asked to be rebated for the 6 days of no service, but my contract said they can have reasonable outages. Reasonable? 6 days no service, no explanation? and I should have to pay for that? even more anger set in, I had ran a $75.00 ad for puppies that week, and lost several days, of calls.Plus people had told me when they dialed my number, they were hearing my voice mail! My messages! That contract is set up, so you pay and pay, and they can basicaly do what ever, because thats the contract. And if you do not like it, cancel, and you can still pay for the service, with this early termination fee. I also love, how when a phone broke, and I tried to replace it, I could either pay this inflated ripp off price for this cheap phone, or I could sign up for two more years of, hell. I can tell you work for them, and I really respect that even though you could talk like a jerk to me, you did not, and still maintained a profesional tone, thank you, and its not you personaly.

Hi poster,

Not to be rude, but how is this a RIP OFF? Were you scammed out of any of your money?

Why would your service be put on a pedestal over everybody else's service? What is so hard to understand that if you don't pay your bill (or hold your end of the bargain) that your service is in jeopardy, just like if you don't pay your light bill, cable bill, water bill, etc. All companies work the same way.

If someone owed you some money, would you not ask them for it if/when they called you?

If you have a complaint about how the rep acted towards you, then you did the right thing by asking for a supervisor. You might want to write a letter to T-Mobile instead.
