T Webb Service Agency - Aviva Plc $50,000 LOTTERY WINNER! (my rear end..) Mcalester Oklahoma

2 weeks ago my elderly father got a letter from some company claiming he had won $50,000 in the UK lottery. along with the letter came a check for 2,700 dollars and instructions to call an 800 number to "authorize his claim". In his exitment he called and was promtly told to deposite the check and call the number back, which he did, exept that by pure luck I was there that day and he happened to ask me to call for him. Emidiately I was suspicious. so I researched on line and came across this site. his situation matches some of these examples to a tee. so I called from a safe phone (one that cant be charged any fees, public phone, prepaid phone, etc.) when I demanded more information from the individual he got beligerent and even threatened to call the FBI ON ME!!! the gall!

Obviously this guy was trying to salvage what he could of his scam. Beware, this last resort tactic might work on the poor ealderly victims but not this time. I gave this guy a tong lashing he wont soon forget. He hung up the phone and didnt call back but now I'm affraid someone else will send a letter and I might not be there next time. I educated my dad about this as best I could and asked him to call me before he does anything involving money. I called the bank and informed their fraud department and am in the process of contacting the FBI & FTC (Federal Tradde Comission) & if at all possible the fraud division of interpoll. We got lucky this time but its impotant that we all make an effort to report these maters. We need to make some noise so that the legislator will do something about it. The sqweeky wheel gets the oil.
