 Thats goodyour school teaches you how banks and finance companies scam people,prevent you from being scammed, That you say its not a scam your wrong ,Charging interest on late payments for life of loan ,should be told to customers.Not hidden in fine print..

 It is a ripoff because its hidden in the fine print.Its a purposly setup trap to scam money.

 WOW, We covered how to borrow money and deal with banks in High School, if you didn't you got sub-standard education.

So this is what really happened:

1. You were late on your payment
2. You didn't call TD to arrainge a late payment, that would have been the correct thing to do, and you refused to answer the collections phone calls and read the letter sent by TD 
3. Because you didn't do the correct thing TD didn't get to explain the penalty and how to avoid them
4. You made your payment
5. There is a penalty for being late
6. It was added to your principle
7. This makes it money TD lent you
8. You pay interest on all money lent too you

Not a rippoff, Unfortunate and short sighted on your part, but not a rippoff.
