TD Bank used to have a customer friendly bill pay system, where the amount came right off your balance as soon as you created the check or payment out of their bill pay system. You always knew where you stood and human error was eliminated. They changed it a few months back to a system that seemed most advantageous to TD Bank becuase it would be easy for a customer ot make errors in accounting, which would result in lots of NSF fees for TD Bank. The first few months weren't too bad, but over the CHristmas holidays this year the only way I can I describe this bank is RABID for NSF fees. They have changed rules that I didn;t know about, which resulted in NSF fees. The debits from the NSF fees screwed up my balance against checks that were written before the NSF fees, and when those checks came in, more NSF fees. When I called customer service to attempt to halt this insanity. It was spiraling out of control. The customer service rep was smug and acted like I was just a deadbeat. I found out later that during this call she made a note in the system that I requested they no longer cover chaecks that came in with NSF, even though TD would still charge me $35 per NSF check coming in. That makes no sense, since they charge you the $35 whether they pay the check or not. So now I have to pay the $35 per check fee, plus the returned check fees to whomever the checks were returned too. I called TD Bank to dispute, and to report that I had documentation from the State reporting that they deposited funds into my account 1/6/13. But TD chose to hold the deposit until 1/7/13, which resulted in? You guessed it, even more NSF fees for TD Bank. The TD BAnk rep didn't care at all that I had documentation from the State as to when the money was depositied. TD Bank chose to recognozie the deposit as the 7th, so tough sh** for me. I would advise anyone to run, don't walk away from this bank, like you would from a rabid dog. There are few feeings in life worse that realizing that 2,3,4 days of your hard work and pay was swindled from you by TD Bank, for NOTHING. I chose to go with Capital One 360 account, becuase they have that system where as soon as you create a check from their bill pay, it comes right off your babalance, and you don't ahve to wait for the receover to cash it to have an accurate balance. I told the customer service rep this and one thing was very obvious: TD Bank does not care at all about losing my business. Guess you have to be a millionaire before they consider your business worth it
