my power at my home was shut off last year sometime in june. i went and stayed with my son to help with his new baby for a while and my son in law told me he had taken care of the light bill so i thought everything was all taken care of so no need to worry. we'll i was wrong. he never paid the bill and plugged another meter in and was arrested on Sept 11.2012 .we'll i was shocked that this had happened and called Teco to see how much it would cost me to get my power restored and they said 700.00 would pay the old bill plus pay for a new deposit on my new account.. so meanwhile my son on law stayed in jail and got time served for theft of electric .so it took a few months to come up with the money. in fact it was Sept 11thwhen the arrest took place and i just now on the 4th of March is the exact day i had the total amount paid to restore my power. i struggled so. hard to get it back on. and when they got ready to send them out to turn it back on the people said Oh there's a problem we can't turn it on because there is restitution owed. well shouldn't they have charged that restitution to my son in law he was arrested for it. i wasent even there and I'm being punished for something i had no knowledge. of i don't even know how i will be able to even be able to keep my home because it took every thing i could scrape together just to restore my power back on and i have been staying there this whole time without power because when he got arrested. people came and stold every thing worth any thing so i had to try to protect what was left I'm at the end of my rope. I'm physicaly and emotionaly drained and I'm financialy bankrupt please tell me this is against the law for them to do this .I'm almost 60 and this isint! fair
