I am seeking others who have been scammed by The Candle Brokers, Candles4Money, and/or Divine Marketing. I was contacted by The Candle Brokers in February and purchased 1500 candles, 15 displays, with promises of selling at least 3 candles a day per location times 7 days a week. In order to assure success, I needed to purchase an additional contract with Divine Marketing for an insurance policy.

Not only did I not come even close to selling the amount of candles, I never received my full 15 locations. I have one location left only because I haven't picked up my candles yet. I basically was told to remove my candles from all these locations due to them not selling. I worked very hard from March until September and could not make a go of this business. I lost money in gas, time, and obviously the investment.

I have filed a complaint with the BBB, FTC, and AG Office. I need the help from all of you who have also fallen for the scam. We need to work as a team to shut these people down and bring them to justice. If I can't receive my money back, I will not stop until they have had to pay massive fines and lose their possessions like they did to us, or better yet, do jail time. We cannot sit back and let them get away with this. Please contact me through the rebuttal key. Thank you.

Feeling Foolish and Violated from the scam

Same case with candle Brokers and Divine Marketing

AUTHOR: Frank Abad - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 06, 2008

They are a completed ripoff, I also purchase back then in 2004 500 candles and pay divine marketing $500 dollar to alocate the places on wich I can display and sell this candles. No only they are not at all what i order in the catalog but they are so horrible that they did not sell at all, Divine Marketing did nothing, they just make a couple of calls using the phoene book of my area and then call me a couple of times with the leads, went the contratc estated that they were going to send a rep to go with me to this palces, imposible to talk with Candle brokers after you send the money same with divine marketing.

I found 4 places to put the candles but they did not sell at all. they should all be in jail. they garantee you will sell the candles as Gina connors explained. back in 2004 I have filed a complaint with the BBB.

How can the government clean all the sand off the beach? And, keep it that way?

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 05, 2005

You see, Gina, I've been telling the victims this since I started coming to this site about 4 months ago. It really is up to you to keep fraud out of your life.

The government can't stop it all. They can't even stop most of it. Just like street drugs, and street crime, they are lucky to find and stop maybe 25%. There's just too much. They don't have the resources. Or the manpower.

Plus, far too many investigators look at the victims as gullible fools who should know better. As much as I try to feel sympathetic, I feel that way myself much of the time.

Calling the references the company gave you? What else can I think when I see that?

The feds do stop some fraud. The major ones, that steal millions from consumers. Search for national one telecom and premier premium communications here. I've been trying to goad the feds into stopping these crooks for 3 months now. Finally, some attorney generals are on the case.

Besides, it's hard. It's easy to stop these d**n frauds if you kill them. But, the feds can't do that. They have to get cease and desist orders. They have to find and freeze accounts. That's hard to do. Plus, the frauds see it coming. They drain the accounts and move the money.

Yes, if these frauds were a threat to national security, they'd be in Guantnamo in the morning. That's not the case, so they won't.

It really is up to you to spot and prevent fraud from entering your life. Once it gets you, you have to fight an uphill battle.

What you are finding is a series of businesses. The frauds run the con, take 500 victims, and then change the name to keep the con fresh. It's like a brothel w***e that washes between customers.

And, no, the frauds don't fear the feds. They already know the facts I mentioned above. These are experienced frauds. They have a 20 year history of this lifestyle. They have gotten good at it. They know how to attract the victims. They know how to work the financials. They're good. You candle buyers are just starting. But, the frauds have 20+ years in their business. Each.

That's why you people can't beat them. I hit the nail right on the head. Naive beginners. And, you're competing against experienced criminals. What chance did any of you really have?

I told you exactly how to prevent all this. For the victims, it's too later. But, others will come here and read and not get taken. That's why I spend the time to write comments. I really don't want to see people get eaten alive by these frauds. It's not something people enjoy seeing.

I know a lot because I read a lot. I come here and see all the fraud. I've had little businesses of my own. I've had frauds call me and try to hustle me. I've seen all the cons, and how they work.

You had the key to prevention. You said after the fact. Had you checked in advance, you'd still have all your money. Remember what I said, trust leaves you vulnerable? That was your undoing.

You seem like a nice lady, Gina. I feel sorry for you. I really do. I'll be perfectly honest with you here. I told you to find an attorney because that's what you want to hear. But I really don't think you stand much of a chance. You'll end up throwing good money after bad. As well as prolonging your agony over this matter.

But, who the hell am I to discourage you with the facts? Give it a try. Who knows? People actually win the lottery. I have no faith in that either. But, every once in a while someone does actually win.

I wish I could find an answer for you. Unfortunately, I can't. No one can. Like I said to the other lady, hustle the trash candles off on ebay. Then, get good stock, like I said, and start a real business. Unfortunately, you pissed off all your retail stores with the trash. But, some will come back. And you can find others.

That's what I'd do. I'd make my loss back. Plus, I'd go over to Boston and remove a pound of flesh. From the inside. Slowly. That would be my satisfaction. Then, I'd come home and get to work on making up my losses.

Years from now, you'll begin to understand all this. Maybe then, you'll look back and realize what I was trying to tell you. Late is better than never.

Why aren't suthorities doing anything?

AUTHOR: Gina - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 04, 2005

Paul, you seem to know a great deal about this. Maybe you can help me. How come it was so easy for me (unfortunately after the fact) to trace this company to multiple names? I found the same people listed on one company that disappeared listed on a new one. They left the other business and people high and dry. Even though my candles were junky, at least I received some. Sometimes this company closes down without sending the person anything after payment has been received. I was even told by the AG office that the company had to return my money because they didn't have a license to sell in my state. This is illegal. However, the Candle Brokers didn't even respond to the government letter. There is no fear on their part. There are too many people out there who don't come forward out of no hope and embarassment. Coming forward is the only way we can stop them. Why isn't the FTC coming down harder on these crooks? I am not an investigator and have easily tracked the pattern. A government employee with more resources should have a cake walk.

Four little words: Fraud attorney and asset recovery!

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 04, 2005

This is how you start. Search your favorite engine for these terms.

But, don't misunderstand! I'm not recommending an attorney. That's because I'm not sure. I've never been cheated like this. So, I'm not sure what you can legally do about it.

If this ever happened to me, I'd be so d**n angry that I'd run right down there and

Well, you get the idea. I don't sit around and wait for a court to pass judgment.

But, most victims won't do what I'd do. So, for them, all that's left is legal remedies. See what's out there. Talk to an attorney and see what your chances are.

Pick one that's been there and won judgments against frauds like this. More importantly, do an asset search to see if there is any money to recover. I'm sure there is. They may have moved it all around, but they couldn't have just spent this volume of money in a short time. Your money is out there somewhere.

Not being an attorney, I just can't say for sure how to get it back.

More candle business fraud.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, January 01, 2005

d**n frauds! Boy, do they suck!

This faux food candle thing could actually make money. If only people didn't go to these d**n frauds to purchase the supplies.

Gina, there is another company running this con too.

ExpresScents

Look at the fraud's web site. But, for Christ sake, don't buy any of the candles! They send one nice sample candle that would actually sell. That's how they get you to buy into the business.

But, the stock they actually sell is nothing like the nice sample you based your decision on.

But, there's tons of nice stock on the web. Find a company near your home, and buy direct from them, in wholesale quantities and prices.

If you'd put the nice candles in stores, people would've bought them. The mistake you made is using trash you got from an internet fraud.

Read my comment on this page.

Best of luck to you, Gina!
