This comes as to no suprise as professionals or tenants to Mark Burchell. The man in short is a glorifed slum lord who claims he is " crossover house" or some bullsh*it when it is nothing more then a halfway house. He brags about his connection with law enforcement and even being there during busts to try to get the customer before he is even arraigned. He does this at Oakdale Recovery and St Marys. and many other hospitals. He showed up at another recovery unit with 4 women who spoke all of 15 total minutes while he went on about his addiction to porn, being in a gang (which has never been his story otherwise but hey that adds to his false street cred.) and then telling everyone how Jesus, Jesus, Jesus....when it was all said and done all of his business cards were in the trash and many were praying to Jesus for him to leave.  Prior comments about Mark could not be more accurate. He will blame you for being a 'typical drug addict' if you disagree with him and yet not identify himself as one. He identifies himself as more of a Chrisitan Police Officer who once did cocaine and after his family dumped him (short of his son who seen the money in a population that cant argue) joined his side.  I can't argue. As a fromer addict, Mark has a slick routine. Who would stick up for a recovering addict? Nobody. He is the voice of salvation and if you dont recognize that he "knows more cops and judges that it will make your head spin." He will do the proper Chrisitan thing and sue you. There is NOTHING Christian about this man. Nor  12 step.  He is actually appaling and suprisingly the epitomy of everything the 12 steps does not represtent. You will wonder if its a joke? As many do when he trys to seel cars...I mean recovery at local recovery centers.  THIS IS THE THING....listen to his sell before you EVER give him a dollar. Most throw his card in the trash. Better yet...look at the turnover in his "houses".  Action speaks louder then words. 

I couldnt help but laugh at that last report about The Doorway to Recovery. There is no doubt about it that Mark Burchell can seem intimidating or hard headed, but that is because of passion. He did not gain as many homes and the reputation he has because he "takes peoples money" I have first handed watch DTR take in clients that had no money or clothes and help them out. In fact, the hospitals send people like this all the time and they are never denied. Monday night meetings consist of people getting updates and problems being solved. Under no circumstance have I ever seen Mark Burchell or the staff allow someone to stay on their home dirty for alcohol or drugs. I have been with the DTR for over 2 years and I live in one of the homes and it has saved my life. There are rules and chores, yes but that is apart of the program. Most programs do no care about you like this one. I have seen Mark Burchell go to court for people and fight for them to get help, I have also seen him spend countless hours with families and fundraisers to help people. My guess is that those who are talking bad (2 people) probably did not make it in the homes due to their addiction. It is funny how addicts can act when they do not look at themsleves as the problem but everyone else is. If anyone does believe these two post I am sure Mark Burchell will welcome you to any meeting or let you tour the homes and have a first hand look at the program. The program has changed myself and many others. Sorry that these posts are even up. As long as I have been here, I have NEVER had a problem.

 I couldnt agree with you more, this guy was a smug, rude,  pompass....ya???, overly talkative piece of work. The plan is genious though i'll give him that. Buy cheap or foreclosed properties, rent it out to as many human beings as you can fit in there, approximately 5-6 a house at 420.00 each, then give them cleaning orders every week and have a moniter stay upstairs and report to you, what a genious way to get as much money as possible out of every house and being able to control the lives of your tenants. "CHA CHING, PAY DAY", However the program is NOTHING like its portrayed to be on the website, he doesnt give a crap about any of these guys, just pay your rent and do your chores.  I wont go into all the details of why I am so dissappointed in this man and his "program", unfortunately some of you will just find that out on your own!
