I paid almost $1300 for chairs at the beginning of September, 2012. I thought I would have a nice set of chairs for my Thanksgiving and Christmas houseguests.  By mid-November, the chairs had not arrived, so I contacted them.  I was told by Susan that they would be there by the last week of November.  When that time rolled around, still no chairs.  I called and I was told they would probably be shipped by late December.  Because I was fed up with the lies and stalling, and having read a couple of nightmare reviews popping up left and right about this company, I cancelled my order at the end of November.
The refund was supposed to have been processed in "10 business days," according to Ann Marie, their "customer service" supervisor. I never received my refund. She said instead of refunding my credit card (which I cancelled because I was terrified that they had my number), they would mail it. The refund has still never arrived, and this was over one month ago. Every time I called asking for my refund, I was transferred to the account manager, who is "the only person who can process refunds." Well, the "Account Manager" is named Jules Regueiro, and he is the grandson of the recently-deceased owner, Julio Regueiro, who died on September 7th, 2012.

Apparently, Jules Regueiro has no clue how to operate a business, nor does the rest of his family (Martin Regueiro was no help either). If you go to Jules' Facebook page, you'll see pictures of him posing next to shiny, expensive automobiles, and he lists one of his likes as, "CASH." So obviously we're dealing with a really classy guy here.  Had I known I was buying furniture from a greasy, fake-tanned weasel who wears gold chains and looks like a rejected audition candidate for MTV's Jersey Shore, I would never have given this company my money.  But alas, elder Julio Sr died THREE days after I put in my order, and I'm quite confident that I will never see my money again because his pathetic and incompetent son and grandson could care less about running a proper business.  When the Feds bust down their doors and seize their assets, I'm sure we'll all have the last laugh, but until then, it's despicable that this business continues to operate.

If you have lost money to this company or have any type of claim against them, you will probably never see your money again.  They have currently shut down their website and changed their phone numbers.  The sheer numbers of ripped-off customers will seal their eventual demise.  If you are reading this, you should immediately file a complaint with the NY Attorney General's office, the BBB, and the FTC, as well as contacting local media in the Farmingdale metropolitan area.  If you try to sue The Place Furniture Galleries LLC in small claims court, you will be required to appear in the Farmingdale (NYC) court system.  For those of you not living in New York, unless you can find an out-of-state lawyer willing to appear on your behalf, good luck.  Remember also that the company is probably insolvent and therefore you will need to list Martin Regueiro and Jules Regueiro as defendants on any paperwork.  Jules, if you're reading this, lawyer up. You're in for a rough few years.
