I have no other choice but to file a Rip-off Report. After many phone calls, several emails and one offical letter, and no reponds/answers, I give up trying to be polite. Below is the copy of the second letter sent to THE PROS:

TO: Mr. Brian Tessler
Chief Marketing Officer

FROM: Darko & J.A
EVENT #ID: 687876

It's been 10 days now since we sent you our email and letter (see below) explaining our experience with The Pros. We still have not heard directly from you. We have tried to resolve this issue with your staff; however they treated us unprofessionally and expressed no apologies or regrets. We demand to be reimbursed for the inconvenience and the lack of professionalism. Please take action. This is a second notice.

My wife and I got married on May 27, 2006. After we attended the DJ Showcase by the Fair oaks Mall, Virginia - The Pros was selected to DJ our wedding.

We selected our DJ after watching their performance. We were blown away with the professional presentation of The Pros. The speech you gave during the Showcase was powerful and made us believe that The Pros will deliver what is promised. We regret to inform you that we have a different opinion now.

One week before the wedding I called The Pros to confirm everything, and asked to meet with our DJ. However, I was told that the DJ will give us a call the Tuesday ( 5/23/06) before the wedding. I accepted that answer and waited until Tuesday already disappointed because we were told that we will meet in person with our DJ to work out the details. However on Tuesday no call was made until 5pm so I called The Pros again to see what is going on. I spoke to customer service, and I was told that Mr.Dxxxxxx will give us a call later on that day. Right there I was confused because our DJ's name was not Dxxxxxx but Sxxxxxx. Customer service went on to explain that our DJ had an emergency and would not be able to DJ our wedding so they assigned us another DJ. I was furious because nobody cared to give us a call and let us know that the DJ we hand picked was not available anymore. It would have not been a problem if The Pros notified us of such an important change. I informed the customer service that I was not happy about the change but that I had no other choice but to accept knowing that the wedding is only days away. Later that day I spoke to our new DJ - Mr. Dxxxxx. I asked Mr. Dxxxxxx to confirm that had all the paper works (Wedding Checklist, Song Selections, title of the first dance song, etc.) which he did acknowledged.

I asked Mr. Dxxxxx if we could meet, he said that he would not have time to meet with us and that we should use phone and email to contact him.

On the wedding day, Mr. Dxxxxxx arrived and set up his equipment. We provided Mr. Dxxxxxx with CD's that contained music tracks from our native countries. Everything was fine until the first dance. Mr. Dxxxxx announced that the groom and the bride will have their first dance. To our surprise he played the wrong song, we kept on dancing because 100+ people were looking at us and stopping to complain about the song right there is embarrassing. I believe that you understand the importance of the First Dance, it is the very first dance I am having with my wife. My wife and I were extremely disappointed. Not that he got the song title wrong but the artist too. We requested for "I will always be right there" by Bryan Adams and he played "Right there waiting" by Richard Marx.

After the first dance everyone started to dance with us, the music was low so I asked him to put the volume up. For each song I kept raising my hands asking to put the volume up. I even sent some friend to ask him to put the volume up through out the night. End result is that volume was not loud enough even after me asking Mr. Dxxxxxxx repeatedly to put the volume up and leave it up.

After the wedding I submitted The Pros Survey noting all the issues I described above. Several days later I was contacted by the Regional Manager of The Pros, Mr. Scot Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchells' number one argument regarding the first dance song was that "I will always be right there" by Bryan Adams does not exist. He went on to explain that he is been in DJ-business for years, that he is the biggest Bryan Adams fan, and that he has never heard of such song. I could not believe that he was trying to make me believe that I was wrong. I explained to him that the same song title and artist name I provided to The Pros, I also gave to my photographer who had no trouble finding the song. If Mr. Dxxxxxx could not find the song then he should have given me a call and I would have sent it to him. At the end Mr. Mitchell realized that he was wrong, however he did not apologize or express any regret for the inconvenience caused to us.

Mr. Mitchell also argued that Mr. Dxxxxxx was pretty stressed out/confused during the wedding because every time he was asked to put the volume up, some of the guest would ask him to put the volume down. We only had our close friends as guests who enjoy loud music and would never ask to put the music down on the day that I am getting married. I personally was dancing right in front of the DJ, and I have not and nor any of my friends seen anyone approach DJ to ask to put the music volume down. I have sent people to ask to put the volume UP and to request the song, but that is about it. In fact, no guest would ever ask to put the music down if the groom and the bride are dancing and asking to put the volume up.

It is considered rude and in polite, and I refuse to accept the fact that my guest are to blame for low volume. Once again no apologies or regrets from Mr. Mitchell who also mentioned that he is siding with Mr. Dxxxxxx on this issue.

And for the last issue of not getting the notification that our DJ had an emergency, Mr. Mitchell mentioned that he did not have time to give us a call because he was making sure that he can find us a good DJ in time for the wedding. We took a trip out and hand picked our DJ. We should have been given at least a courtesy call.

We hope that you will read this letter in full and act promptly. We feel that we did not get what we paid. The Pros must accept the full responsibility and reimburse us for the inconvenience and lack of professionalism. Thank for your help and understanding.

Above is the complete copy of the letter I sent to The Pros. The Pros is irresponsible company that tricks you into getting their services and then once they have your money they treat you like an idiot and blame you for all their mistakes. What kind of regional manager calls a customer to tell them that the song they selected for their First Dance does not exist? We spent months looking for that perfect song, perfect words, and perfect music. They did not apologize, or express any regret. It is unheard of. I urge you to stay away from THE PROS, they are not what they appear to be.

We STILL demand to be reimbursed. I will continue to alert as many people as I can, I don't want anyone else going through this. I will continue so until The Pros accepts the full responsibility and compensates us for the inconvenience.

I got married to my now ex-husband in 1996. We used The Pros for our wedding and we were pleased with the services that day. The only complaint I had was with the quality of the video. They cut parts of the wedding ceremony (which I didn't know was apparently a common practice) and faces during the reception were blurry, almost like there was too much light on those closest to the camera. But from what I remember, everyone was very nice and very professional.

I am the maid of honor for my best friend who is getting married in June of next year. She was toying with the idea of hiring The Pros for her wedding, mainly because they fit her budget and that I had used them previously with no problems. However, it is possible that in 10 years their customer service has gone downhill. So I will be forwarding her the link to this ROR and let her make the call as to whether she chooses to work with them or not.

Getting married is one of the most important days and everyone wants it to be perfect, whether it's a big blow out formal bash like my friend's upcoming wedding, or like my recent wedding, a church service followed by a catered back yard barbeque which was exactly what we wanted.
Brides and grooms don't spend over a year planning this special day only to feel cheated or disappointed. Everyone should get to look back at their wedding day and recall that it was everything they wanted it to be. That's much more important than a regional manager being "too busy" to call someone to tell them of a very important switch. Feel free to let The Pros know that their actions may have cost them another wedding. Good luck to you.

Hello,

I am an owner of another DJ company. The DJs that work for the Pros get paid a ridiculously low $150 to $200 per event and the company itself pockets the rest!

I can laugh at people that seek out to find DJs that do weddings for $495!!! Get real! This is the new millenium!

We are a professional company and charge a minimum of $795.00 for our services. We do fewer weddings and pay attention to details.

You get what you pay for.
