Jackie Phillips advertizes a professional pet detective service for finding missing pets using her so-called search dog. She trolls Craigslist for missing pet postings, and contacts people offering a guarantee to find the latest track of the missing animal for a minimum of $320 plus mileage, at $80 an hour. She guarantees to find not just any track, but the *latest* of all tracks, as old as 3 weeks old, adding that rain during the time that the pet went missing makes the smell even stronger. Sounds too good to be true - and it was.

We were so desperate to find our cat, who we've had for six years and love very much, that we were fooled by the lies on her website and didn't even think to check her terrible yelp reviews from other lost pet  owners who got scammed.

Her "search" dog had no idea what was going on. We gathered our cat's items to provide smell articles to track her, but he was not interested. Jackie stuck a treat in the bag with the smell items to make her dog put his nose in it. During the entire 4 hours of the "search", her dog never even once indicated that he was on a job - there was no alert from him that he was sniffing or tracking a scent or choosing a direction in which to go. Jackie was pulling him on a leash, trying to find the longest route so that at the end of her four hour minimum she could say the dog needed more time. During the four-hour four-hundred dollar dog walk that we paid for, she was feeding him Gatorade and PB&J sandwiches.

As a pet owner herself, I can't believe she is heartless enough to make people go through this. It's a sad situation to lose your loved pet, and she is giving people false hopes and ripping them off in the process.

Search For Missing Cat in Novato

AUTHOR: The Social Pet - ()

Maria never went on the search with me to look for her lost. I was told by her husband that she was unavailable and had to work that day. I went on the search with her husband and we ended the search at the four hour mark per the request of her husband, who had to catch a plane.

Due to this specific information, she would have absolutely no idea what my dog did, why he did it and how he did it. We never even spoke on the phone. We only sent text messages back and forth in the beginning, but it was her husband who I spoke to on the phone prior to the search to confirm a tracking dog was suitable for the search to find her lost cat.

Maria confirmed she had read all this prior to the phone call.

Per Maria's current Craigslist ad, her cat is still missing. We tracked her cat out of the area and over a variety of terrains and neighborhoods, which can be typical for a cat who was probably chased out of the area.

Maria's response is very typical of a grieving pet person, yet she has zero experience in tracking dogs or lost pet searches. She claims she knows all about lost pet searches, yet she has never been on a single one, including the one for her cat.
