I am writing this report to try and help anyone who accidently stumbles upon the eventline.com before they get ripped off.  Theeventline.com uses underhanded business practices, violates the law, and will not care about the contract they entered into at all once they have your money.  My Wife and I contracted them to provide furniture and a tent for our outdoor wedding.  Their prices are pretty fair and had a very large selection online.  The problem occured because we were short on time and needed to hire someone fast and due to this I did not read the fine print close enough.  theeventline.com did: Not honor their contract with us; gave us incorect numbers of items; did not bring any of the correct items (they brought a circus tent instead of a white tent for our wedding); EVERY item they brought was filthy and half of the were moldy; every table they brought was falling apart; the tent they set up partialy colapsed and they refused to come fix it; they would not answer their phones; they were a day and a half late showing up to set up and three days late coming to pick it up; they did not follow any of their safety standards listed on their website; and their customer service is non existant.  Every attempt to contact the company and get it fixed (even the nice calls I made) resulted in me getting hung up on if they answered.  You have to enter into a contract to work with them.  I minored in law in college and I am by no means a lawyer or an expert but after consulting with a lawyer and doing a lot of research I am fairly confident their "contracts" are not legal because a lot of the stuff in the fine print.  I won't get into it because I think I will run out of room but at the very least they are malacious business practices.  In the fine print it says you cannot complain about the service to them directly, but must contact a "non-biased third party dispute mediation company (PAR Mediation)" or they will fine you a ridiculous amount of money every time you do so.  This supposedly non biased mediation company is in fact owned by the same person and is even located in the exact same office.  (Its all on the Illinois Secretary of State's website).  And in addition to this you must enter another contract if you use the mediation service that states you cannot ever sue them, major red flag!  I think the original contract says the same thing.  The worst part about this, aside from not being able to sue them per the contract, is that you have to pay in advance.  So basically once they have your money they won't give it back.  A quick search of the mediation company produces plenty of reviews about how unfair they are, which is pretty obvious because they are owned by the same person...  So they have essentially created a way in which they can offer a rental service that doesn't really require them to do what they were hired to do and still keep your money.  Also they do not give you the correct fine print that is referenced in the contract.  The fine print they gave me was quite different than what I found on their website as the correct one from the contract when I began putting my lawsuit together.  They go out of their way to decieve the customer in order to prevent them from being able to have any way of getting their money back when they don't do their job.  In addition to this they are not legally operating in most of the states they do business in.  At the time I hired them they were not legally operating in my state (which was the reason my lawsuit was thrown out).  Robert Hollingsworth runs a bunch of shell companies in several states which are all in fact the same company.  What he does is when a business license is revoked (which many of his business have had happen to them) is he starts a new business on paper and continues on hocking the same junk.  They are the apitomy of an awful and greedy corporation.  DO NOT use them.  In addition to all this I am fairly certian www.earthtraces.com, which is a charity ran by the same man out of the same office, is a tax evasion front for his other companies.  That needs some more research but I'm pretty confident in that statement.  Buyer beware!

Mitchell Thomsen of Kansas City area in Missouri (not Edwardsville, IL as claimed) the unnamed "Angry Customer" refused free arbitration and filed case 1216-CV21591 in Jackson County Courts in October 2012. He states he knows the law, yet failed to mention his claims were dismissed outright as and continue to be baseless. Obsessing over this loss in Court he now, 8 months later, created false, practically absurd issues in this report that were never mentioned in Court. We agree it was unfortunate that the tent he wanted was damaged by weather a week before and could not be used at his event. As was fair, reasonable and required by our contract, he was given the opportunity for a complete refund. Instead he chose a different tent. The tent Mitchell selected was larger and more expensive and was set 4 days early at no extra charge. No complaint concerning the tent, cleanliness or anything else was made during these 4 days. A month after his event he decided he should not have to pay for it due to the change in tents. Mitchell never spoke with our President or any other owner and has slandered his "insider information". Mr. Thomsen was advised by the Court that when you rent and use someone's property, you must pay for it. It is not reasonable to reject a refund, accept delivery and use an item, then demand not some but all money back. Mitchell Thomsen, please discontinue further statements, they are in violation of your contract and the Courts. Please contact our legal office at (((redacted))) before doing anything further as it will result in action being taken against you to protect against your hostile false claims and cover your damages. Our 1000+ events a year, attended by nearly 1 million people while maintaining a perfect safety record and A BBB rating is the best indicator of success.
