The information provided in this report below is based on comments made by Shawn Pigg during an onsite inspection held by a third party verification company with no biases toward Hotels Etc.

Hotels Etc. is a company dedicated to providing their clients with the lowest discount rates for hotels. Shawn Pigg, CEO, stated, "Hotels Etc. has the lowest travel entertainment recreations discounts on the market." The staff negotiates with companies all over the globe to get a discount that is not available to the general public. Once they have obtained the discount it is placed on the member's only aspect of their website. Mr. Pigg additionally stated, "our motto here is to help people save money, and that's what we focus on."

Leads for Hotels Etc are acquired through several different venues including television, radio, magazines, newspapers, conventions, and seminars. After initial interest has been placed in Hotels Etc. a potential client can sign up to become a member on Hotels Etc.'s website. After they sign up a package is mailed to their home that includes instructions as well as a physical membership card, "from that point they go to the website and register, and then are able to access the discounts."


During the onsite interview, Mr. Pigg was asked to describe some of the common complaints that Hotels Etc. receives. Mr. Pigg assured us that they rarely receive complaints, but if one does arise they will go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. Mr. Pigg described a situation where a client missed a hotel reservation due to a flat tire, "I got a hold of our suppliers and got her money back."

When asked to comment on complaints posted on Ripoff Report's website Mr. Pigg stated that one of the complaints on the website was from a disgruntled employee. He believes other comments to be a result of customers being frustrated and instead of reaching out to Hotels Etc. they posted on Ripoff Report. Mr. Pigg ensures all clients that they can reach out with an issues, "if anybody ever has an issue, comment, complaint, or anything in between they can contact our office here, and we will be more that happy to assist them." It should be noted that Hotels Etc. are proud members of the BBB, "we have an A+ rating across the board."

When asked what type of changes they have made to honor their commitment to make things right with the customer per the request of Ripoff Report. Mr. Pigg explained that they have made the entire process of booking more convenient for their clients through the use of online booking tools, and an online hotel catalog.

on 10/28/09 i recieve aphone call from readers choice offering inrollment in readerschoice/hotels etc/choicetravelcard/choicetravelpass.  i argeed to reveiw the informationfor  7 days. on11/05/09the commp. post mark the envelope and  supposely sent it out. ididnot recieve the mailing untill 11/14/09 . on 11/17/09 icall the comp. to cancel the offer and request a full refund asthey had all ready bill my cridet card for a the sume of178.95 on 11/05/09. the superviser(KYLE) refused to do so saying i was pase my 7 day review. when i insisted that he make the porper refund h be cane very argumentative and told me i received an e-mail with the information on 10/29/09 and idid not respomed to it so i was pass me 7 day review. i check my e-mails,current,deletd,junk@spam thee was on e-mail sent to me. call KYLE back told him there was no ee-mail again he becane argumentative and said i was lying and refused to refund my money. when  i insisted on a refund he said he would but he would bill me for magizne i did want for $119.00. i toad him no magiznes and refund all my money. he said he would refund the 178.95 and bill me 119.00 or i could disput the  total anount of 197.95and then refuse to discuse this any more.

Readers Choice is not Hotels Etc.

We need our customers to keep in mind, Hotels Etc is a generic keyword that people use when talking about more than hotels.

We do not sell magazine subscriptions.

Please be careful when searching for Hotels Etc. because it may or may not be our company.
