Three Wishes Farms Anneliese Kannow Sold In Utero foal with severe congenital defects Camarillo California

I purchased an in utero Kannan/Indoctro foal out Undercover (Krocket) from Three Wishes Farms in 2015 with  "a live and healthy foal as deemed by a veterinarian within 48 hours of birth." I was told by Annelise Kannow after he was born on 4/15/15 that the colt was "healthy and very correct " and "we had a perfect foal health check :)." Then on 4/23/15 after I had paid when I went to visit the colt, I noticed he had severe laxity in his tendons and  a severe upright right front foot and less severe upright left front foot that both definitely looked clubby.  Of course the club feet were not disclosed to me on his "perfect foal health check" as I was only told he was "still down in his fetlocks behind so in the stall for a few days but igg great and everything good."

I honored the contract out of admitting to my naivete in trusting Anneliese's integrity. But in my opinion no breeder with an iota of integrity would sell a foal with such severe congenital defects. Needless to say the colt has two front club feet and even after check ligament surgery still has club feet per vet reports. I feel that a responsible breeder would never rebreed a mare that produced a foal with such severe defects, yet Annelise Kannow and Three Wishes Farm continue to breed Undercover aka Krocket by Indoctro and hawk the foals in utero. I feel that potential buyers should be aware of the mare's issues with prior foals, especially if they are purchasing them in utero. Also, be aware that Annelise's contract does not cover farrier work, registration or basic vet services (vaccines ect) that are covered in most other breeders contracts (at least mine didn't).

Per Annelise's vet "flexural deformity of both front feet noted. Classification of the club feet is difficult as a normal classification of a club foot measures the angle of the dorsal hoof walk angle (DHWA) against the opposing (supposedly normal) hoof wall. In the colt's case, both feet are slightly upright (neither is totally normal). Subjectively, I would classify the right front as a grade 2 club foot (5-8 degrees steeper than desired) and the left front as a grad 1 club foot (3-5 degrees steeper than desired)."

In my opinion I would advise against purchasing a horse from Annelise Kannow and Three Wishes Farm, but if you must I highly suggest getting an independent foal wellness check. Instead of trying to address my concerns with the foal, Annelies'e response was to block me on Facebook and her farm page. In my humble opinion, that is not someone you want to buy a horse from, let alone an in utero foal where there is so much risk. My goal in writing this review is to save others from the anguish, frustration, and waste of time and money I endured. Buying a foal should be a happy experience, not one where you feel like you got scammed. A testament to a breeder's integrity is what they do or don't do when they produce a foal with defects....you can make your own conclusions based off my experience. There are many reputable breeders out there that stand behind what they produce.
