I contacted Tim McKinnon, owner of McKinnon Painting Plus on 10/25/15 to request a quote to paint the exterior of my home in Framingham, MA. Mr. McKinnon came to my home the following evening, walked around the house with me for 15 minutes, discussing what I wanted, some minor carpentry work to repair some woodpecker damage, power wash and scrape the house, prime, and give it one coat of paint in the same color, white. Mr. McKinnon gave me a price of $1,800 for just the labor, I'd suply all materials (paint, primer, sandpaper, caulking, cedar shakes, ect.) I asked Mr. McKinnon to put that all in writing. Mr. McKinnon again returned the following night, with the contract in hand. Before signing the contract, he was asked about changing the color of the body, said it would not be an issue, no change in cost, and the contract was signed. A check for the first half of the job in the ammount of $900 was given to Mr. McKinnon, and cleared my account on the following day, 10/29/15.

On 10/29, Tim and one worker showed up at 10:30 am, and started to power wash and scrape the house. This was expected and we were off to a good start.

10/30, Tim came by himself late afternoon, and continued to scrape. Around 4 pm, 2 additional workers showed up, and they replaced woodpecker damaged cedar shakes on the side of the garage, which was the majority of the damage from the bird.

10/31 was a Saturday and they did not come to do any work.

11/1 we went to buy the paint, we had waited and delayed a day to save 30% on the cost of the paint. I have text messages and had verbal conversations that waiting the day was not going to be an issue, plus, the paint was here by 10 am on 11/2, but they did not show to work.

11/2 Tim showed up, and started to prime the house by himself again. The 3 man crew I hired is a one man show.

Tim now pulls a disapperaing act. This is when he starts telling me that he is not talking to his partner anymore, and he is doing the job alone. If he pulls money out of his pocket to pay another painter, he will not make any money on the job. Starts complaining about the ammount of money he will earn on the job. He starts telling me daily, that he will be returning tomorrow, and not to worry, my house will be done, it's what he does. Keeps telling me to let him have enough confidence for the both of us. Temperatures start dropping below 35, and my paint can't be aplied.

November 16, after 2 weeks, Tim shows back up. He appologises up and down, this will be done, promise promise promise! He spends 3.5 hours spray painting the body of my home, which hasn't finished being primed, scraped, ect. Tim isn't capable of doing what I paid for, spray and follow to brush it in by himself. What was sprayed is horrible looking, and Tim need to repeat nursury school aparently because he cannot paint between the lines, spray over on all the trim, gutters, foundation, ect.

November 17th, After yesterday, I expected to wakeup, and find Tim hard at work out in front of my home. He did not show up. Again, without giving me any notice, Tim had a court appearence.

Wednesday the 18th, Tim walked to the house, and did not arrive until after noon. He sprayed for 3 hours, and had to stop due to rain coming in shortly.

This was the the last time Tim was seen. He put everything out back, including our 5 gallon bucket of paint, which was still half full, to sit outside in the elements, rain, ect., with temperatures dropping well below the 35 degrees that would ruin the paint. When contacted Saturday, was again told how this would be done, he would be here Monday, and my home would be done 'this week'.

Sunday Tim calls, and 'asks' if he can not come and he wants to go to Waltham to do a job there, he needs the money. I remind him he has already been paid to be working here, and that this is unnacceptalbe, unprofessional, and that I had had about enough. I told him to go ahead and do what he felt was right. He did not show up at my home. Tuesday? Nothing? Wednesday, I receive a text message, telling me I can go ahead and fire him if I'd like, but that he was doing Thanksgiving. Friday was 62, and? No Tim. Tells me that the wid was taken out of his sail when I mentioned he would not be using me as a good reference for his company, that a 4-5 day job that had gone a month was not a good experience.

Today, 11/28/15, I fired Tim. and he became verbally abusive and threatening. I have told him that he needs to contact the Framingham police or the sheriffs office to arrange a time to come and get his sprayer and ladders. If he comes here without a police escort, I will call and have him arrested for trespassing.
