As an 11-year customer of Time-Warner Cable-Roadrunner, in the past few years I have seen TWC-RR engage in an apparent subversive bait and switch tactic to their existing customers. While TWC-RR has increased their rates over the years, at the same time, it is highly apparent TWC-Roadrunner has slowed customer Internet Speed access to accomodate their aggressive new marketing campaign for newer incoming customers - requiring a massive need for more bandwidth to accomodate those new customers.

At a rate of $75.00 per month for High Speed Cable Internet Broadband Service and one landline phone, I have watched my Internet speed decrease in the past year - to the lowest-slowest level of access I have seen since on dial up in year 1999-2000. When I recently requested they upgrade me to 50-speed, the rep stated he would do so, and never did.

TWC is going in reverse of what formerly provided in apparent effort to create a bigger new customer base, and is apparently decreasing existing customer bandwidth in an effort to do so; we existing customers are now on a 3-tier program, and what we used to pay $49.95 for is now nearly $100.00 package. At least, all of the factors appear evident this is the case. Their recent new advertsining campaign saturation of every TV station on planet earth is likely costing them millions to create a new customer base, while they reduce our existing customer access via bandwith by disguising it at a 3-tier speed access plan; a clasic bait and switch. I have had it and as of tomorrow, they are fired.

Bait and switch

AUTHOR: Stacey - ()

POSTED: Sunday, November 17, 2013

The intention of the bait-and-switch is to encourage purchases of substituted goods, making consumers satisfied with the available stock offered, as an alternative to a disappointment or inconvenience of acquiring no goods (or bait) at all, and reckoning on a seemingly partial recovery of sunk costs expended trying to obtain the bait. It suggests that the seller will not show the original product or service advertised but instead will demonstrate a more expensive product or a similar product with a higher margin.

This is not bait and switch - just a greedy corporation tactic.  Happens all the time like prices of Gas or Groceries.  Hope you did not sign a contract because you are screwed.  I had cable at one time and dumped them asap when I switched to satellite.  Good luck
