I had to use TitleBucks in Dalton Georgia for an emergency. For the past four monive I have been paying $700 plus $25 finance. I borrowed $10,000 and still owe $10,716.62.

I asked Christian Funes today how will I ever get this paid. He said to pay more monthly.  How can I?  I am on a fixed income with other bills. I do not have good credit because of a divorce.

What are some choices?  Please help.

Anita, Cleveland Tn

Choices...

AUTHOR: Robert - ()

You aren't going to like your choices, but unfortunatly because you "thought" you needed $10,000 for an emergency..you now have suffer the consequences for your choices.  The reason you went to them doesn't matter.  The reason your credit is in the toilet doesn't matter.  The fact that you are on a limited income doesn't matter.  The only thing that matters is that you took out this loan and made a legal agreement to pay it back under certain terms.

Choice 1 - Stop paying, let them reposess your car/truck.  They will sell the car at auction and you will still owe the difference of the loan.  When they take you to court(and they probably will) you can  explain your situation to the judge and hope that he has some pitty on you to reduce the amount of money you owe.  However, because you have only paid about $2800..don't expect much.

Choice 2 - Pay more every month.  If you have to skip some of your other bills to do this..then you have to make the choice as to which one you want to pay more and which one will cause you less damage.

Choicce 3 - Find anyone you can(friend/relative) who you can borrow the entire payoff amount and pay it off at once time.

Choice 4 - File Bankruptcy.  If this is your only debt it may not be your best choice, but perhaps a consultation with an attorney would be in order.

way too much interest

AUTHOR: GeorgeV - ()

$700 on $10000 is 7% interest monthly or 84% APR, some of the worst creditcards only charge 24% APR so what in the world posessed you to sign for this loan? you realize that every month they are making $700 + fees off you for nothing.

what you need to do is get a payoff amount from them and find money to pay it off in full all at once or you will never pay it off.  borrow beg or steal but pay this off in full, the only other option is bankruptcy.
