Used this company for a really short term loan. Received my small loan at in the first week of Feb 2013 and paid the title loan back by the second week of Feb 2013. Still waiting on my title. Called several times and was told the DMV is backed up. To their defense, they were very apologetic but it still doesn't make up for the fact that its been a month and a half and I still don't have my title! DMV is not that backed up ...... Even if DMV is backed up, I'm pretty sure that even according to their standard it should not take almost 2 months to provide a new title to someone. I'm going to read thru my contract because I feel like its no way that the contract permits an unlimited timeframe for the company to return your title once you've paid your loan off in full. Has anyone else had this issue with Titlemax recently?

In response to your report, I just went through h**l here in Ga with title max. They will not give your title back. Here is what i recommend that you do. Go to LEGAL Shield Website sign up to be a member it costs like 30bucks. Then once you become a member get you a lawyer who will get your Title back or they will get sued ASAP!!! then your title will come back so fast. The Last thing a f***ed up company like this need is A LAWSUIT!!! There are Already involved in five class action lawsuits. LOAN Shark companies like these people turn b**ch when you have a lawyer!

- While I can't speak for Virginia. I recently had to request a title directly from the DMV and was told it would take 4-6 weeks, so you are still probably in a time that is quite conceivable for a delay at the DMV. Remember you are talking about State Government that is well known for moving slower than molasses in January.
Virginia allows for Electronic Lien Releases so if Titlemax did release the lien they probably did it electronically. If so it is out of their hands and you have to deal with the DMV. Have you called or tried to contact the DMV to see what they say about where your title is? Perhaps they can at least tell you if the lien was released?
If it hasn't been released then you still need to deal with Titlemax and may need to look at the procedure for you to get the lien released on your own.

Ask for a Lien Release Letter

If you really want your title RIGHT NOW. Ask them for a lien release letter. You can take it to the DMV and get a new title. This will make all other titles and applications for title invalid.
