As a new business, I needed a credit card processing company, and after Total Merchant Services contacted me, their pitch sounded good, reasonable and I opened an account with them.  

Jason Heil was the rep who processed paperwork for total merchant services, , but the entire process was started by another  Company, Theresa Sykes  Account Manager Triumph merchant services.

I had also inquired about adding authorise.net to use for the bookings we get in line, thinking I'd consolidate everything under one roof. Again, I was advised it's only an additional 10.00 a month.  The first month, we processed 357.00 in sales between the two accounts, and the charges were 97.00. That's 30%, I believe that's called usury in most states. Turns out, details, like the three year term, minimums, wireless fees etc are not mentioned in the paperwork I signed, they can only be found if you click on a link in the email that congratulates you on being approved.  A little too late at that point, don't you think?

Neither person advised me about all of the hidden fees, both only mentioned the 10.00 a month gateway fee, nothing about the minimum, or the wireless fee or the many different rates, only quoting the 1.29 %.  I decided I wanted to cancel, and spoke with one of their managers, a woman who called from CA, I wish I had written down her name, and she advised me I am on the hook for a 399.00 cancellation fee if I cancel, also only mentioned in the info available after you agtee and click through.  She said that I should have known all is this, because it's standard practice in the business. I am starting a new business, have never had a merchant account, there is no way I would have known. I trusted your representatives to explain everything.  She told me that I learned a valuable lesson.  

Because I couldn't afford a 399.00 cancellation fee, I figured I would just pay the monthly fee of 10.00 and not use the account, but this month they added a 99.00 "regulatory fee", and the 10.00 a month that I was quoted, is actually 14.25.

 I'm very unhappy with the way this was handled, and I'm in the process of filing a complaint with the CA BBB over these deceptive practices.
