I was not too suprised to find other people who had similiar experiences to my own, although I could not believe what happened to me. I have had an account with Toyota Financial Services for a year and a half; I had a rough 6 months making payments on time but kept TFS current on my situation and made arrangements to bring myself current, at least this is what I thought.

In October I noticed that the payments that I was making online were not going through---there were sufficients funds in my bank account. I then called to make payments over the phone, these did not go through--despite sufficient funds again. So I then made a follow up call to make sure they had the right account information, they did, but since it did not go through, I gave them another checking account with sufficients funds for the transaction. I believed this to be the fasted way to get funds to transfer to TFS.

The next thing I know, on November 4, my receptionist is telling me there is a man towing my Prius. Toyota reposessed my car. TFS claimed that every time they tried to put a transaction through there were insufficient funds. The manager of my bank looked into and confirmed there was always funds in the account and she even went so far to confirm with automatic clearing house that they never tried to process the funds.

She called TFS on speaker phone with me in her office, confirmed the account numbers etc. TFS answer was that they were not willing to look into and to refinance with another bank to get my car back. The bank manager, herself explained that it was in both parties interest to keep the loan and that it would be impossible to get a loan with a current repossession on it.

I feel that Toyota did this with the intent to get inventory back and auction off to liquidate funds. All of this happened while the auto companies are clearly in distress. So I am wondering, if all of us came together could we have justice?
