TQT llc. Hit by a truck of theirs, and they are now giving me the run around on paying me!!! Township of Clinton Michigan

 I was on my way home from work setting in backed up traffic, when an eighteen wheeler began changing lanes in stopped traffic. He hit me on my drivers side. Not a real hard hit, but enough to cause significant damage. I pulled onto the shoulder and approached the semi truck. I told the driver he had hit me, which he replied,"no I didn't!" I told him, let's get off of the roadway, because traffic is very congested. Once we arrived at a parking lot,I again approached the semi and stated i'd need his information so we can begin the process. He again stated he didn't think he hit me. I said, come out of your truck and come look at my car, there is your truck color scratched onto my car! He exited his truck and looked at my car, still in denial of hitting me! I asked for his insurance information, in which he refused to give me. Hee said I would have to contact his trucking company to obtain the info. I asked for his name, he gave me what I felt was a bogus name, which I later found out was indeed a fake name. I took several pictures of his truck and my vehicle. I wrote all of the info I could from the decals in his truck. He stated he needed to get out of here before the police show up, which was a red flag to me. I told him I hopefully have everything I need. He got into his truck and left.

I immediately called the trucking company,TQT Llc., they advised they had no drivers with that name he had given me, confirming I had received a fake name. After they determined who the driver was, they immediately pleaded for me to not go to the police or my insurance company. They stated if it was around $1,000 they would just settle outside of insurance. I stated i would be okay with that, as I understood the financial decision there. They told me to go receive an estimate, in which I did. I called them back and told then I had gotten the estimate and what should our next move be. The guy in charge of safety asked me to email him the estimate and photos of the damage on my car, which I sent approx 1 hour later. He also stated the semi driver had a different story. The driver apparently said a man ran up to his truck demanding his name yelling, "You hit me!". They have yet to send me any type of reply via email. I have had to call them every day now asking for the guy in charge of safety. They continue to state they have not had a chance to look into it. They will then also say they'll call me back shortly and I will then not hear anything out of them at all. I'd really like to get this settled up. I feel they should wrong a right. The estimate was only $1,017 not a huge amount for a trucking company that is clearly in the wrong. The least they can do is keep me informed on what is going to happen.
