I have been a Tracfone customer for 8 years. From time to time they have made mistakes, and been willing to correct them. My current problem is totally outrageous, payed over $100 for something that i never received. I have recently gone thru a period of illness (I'm 56 and had a stroke). An old girlfriend decided to help me out (without obtaining my prior consent) by purchasing tracfone time for me. According to tracfone, she enrolled me in a 'value plan' and paid for 5 months of service. From time-to-time, I saw 125 minutes appear (not at regular intervals or on any certain day of the month), BUT NEVER ONCE DID THE SERVICE DAYS GET INCREASED. i thought she was purchasing 60 minute time cards, Tracfone informed me via email that double minutes for life had been added. This went on for months, with my service days coming from my own supply accumulated prior to the enrollment in the plan. One Feb 3 I recieved 125 minutes (no service day increase) and Feb 14 another 125 minutes (again, no service days), I called Tracfone customer service on the Feb 15th and got 45 days of service increase and told I should file a case if I wanted the rest. My thinking was that my ex-girlfriend and purchased 2 60 minute cards for which I was not getting service days. I wrote a not to thier customer service that I should receive 2*90-45 days of service (90 days for each card purchase, less the 45 I had gotten). I spend HOURS on the phone with them, initially taking payed for minutes off my tracfone. Each time I struggled with the poor English of their reps. I had already been out 3-4 hours of my time by the time I receive a case number and a phone number to talk about this problem. They told me in the response that they had no record and the purcases in Feb..
Yesterday, with 2 service days left, I called and found out about the value plan (my ex-girlfriend is now married to someone who did not approve of her help). Contrary to what I was told in their note, I was told ONLY ONE AIRTIME INCREASE WAS MADE FOR Feb. on the 7th .. COMPLETELY WRONG!), further, the 45 days from their customer service was actually 37 days which comes with the value plan, and we were done. The days of service for 4 or 5 months of value-plan were taken from my own prior 'stash' of days. The days my ex-gf paid for I WILL NEVER RECEIVE. As I write this, I have a Tracfone with 320 minutes, 1 day of service. I am only left to wonder if I purchase a 60 minute card, will I get the service days for this?? Tracfone, gave me the minutes my ex paid for but will not provide the 37*5 days of service.
I have been ripped off and lied to and called a liar. You want to deal with Tracfone?
