A friend recommended Trains Personal Training as a good place to lose weight and get in shape. Based on his recommendation I paid $600 in cash for services through the rest of the year. I was promised three 30 minute sessions a week, a meal plan and an at home exercise plan.

I met him on a wednesday for the consultation and paid him the funds in cash. He said he would the email me the meal plan. Our first session on friday was cancelled because he said he'd caught a bug, He rescheduled for the next day saturday but cancelled that because of the air quality in Spokane. My regular gym was still open and I was able to go there for a zumba class. I met him on tuesday for my first class and then he cancelled wednesdays class, again due to air quality. My other gym was still open and I again went there instead.

In the one week since I'd signed up he had already cancelled three times. I had also not received the meal and at home exercise plan even after asking again. It was clear to me that I would not be able to reach my goals and I politely asked him to refund my money so that I could seek more consistent services elsewhere. He ignored me for two weeks all the while saying he would call me but he never did. I was then hospitalized for emergency surgery and a family member helped me keep in contact with him. After a lot of back and forth he finally agreed to pay me back in four installments of $150 but to date not one of the payments has been forthcoming.

In his latest message he said that he is not legally obligated to pay me based on the receipt from Square and lied to my family member that he had been in contact with me regarding working with me for a refund on his terms. He is a liar and scammer and he has strung me along for months. I plan to sue him but I just want other people to know about my experence and hopefully they'll think twice before giving him cash. He has ruined my relationship wtih the friend who recommended him and I'm out $600 for services that were never rendered.

I know going to cuort willl cost more but at this point I'm doing it for the principle. He can't get away with this kind of behaviour. He basically took my money, ignored me, strung me along, was rude and dismissive and refused to return my money or render services. I hope this helps anyone seeking services from him to beware!
