US Airlines - Travel Union - Angela Hudson

Red flag #1: the “check” issuer “US Airlines” and an 866-phone number, “Travel Union”,  Scottsdale, AZ has no address or verifiable entity. Try googling “US Airlines” or “Travel Union.” These are very generic terms, but google the 866 number and you’ll get an 800notes entry that reads: ” This is an Award Notification for US Airlines for 2 round trip travel certificates to listen to a 90 min. presentation from Wholesale Travel Agency located in…..Then you get these 2 vouchers and all you have to do is pay tax & fees and baggage,” or something like that.  Red flag #2:  after calling the number and speaking to someone, no address or company name is provided, just an appointment time and date, and you’re asked for your email address to send out the confirmation invitation.  The email arrives a few days before the appointment, the return address is from featuredtravel.com.  Red flag # 3: the appointment is in a hotel conference room, not at a travel agency as one is led to believe. Their “About Us” page, says they are the nation’s leader in discount travel agency promotional appointments and that they have 28 locations, but there is no address for the company on the website. After attending the presentation, you receive “Your Fly America Vacation Passport” for “Two Round Trip Airfares.”  The company, Passport to Travel, and address in Tampa, FL are finally disclosed. RED FLAG #4& 5: why make it so complicated and convoluted to reclaim your so called gift? And why do they want your nonrefundable $100 up front and in money order or cashier’s check only before you receive anything from them? Read the complete process required to redeem you gift: http://www.vacationpassportfaq.com/fly_away_vacation_passport.htm .  In a nutshell, there is a $4.95 processing fee to receive the Registration Validation form. There is a  30-45 days wait to receive Step Two which is an Activation Packet. The Registration Activation form must be submitted with $100, and there is another 10-15 days wait to receive Step Three which is an email activation letter.  While you have 12 months  to book and travel, you are not permitted to travel in the 7 day period before and after a holiday and all requests must be placed 90 days in advance of the departure date.
