BEWARE of VAYAMA.com and it's parent company: TRAVEX International B.V.

We paid $3000 to Vayama.com (via Kayak) for 2 round trip on Lufthansa Airlines to Israel with trip dated for last October 2014.

Our Israel Tour Company cancelled our tour due to "Unsafe Conditions"...they returned our money.

Due to no tour we cancelled our flight at Vayama.com and were told we had "one year to rebook to same destination $100 fee to Vayama.com. and any cost increase in the ticket OR we could change destination for $300 each fee and $100 fee to Vayama.com and any cost of the ticket increase.

BOTTOM LINE...

We attempted to book a new flight to ROME IT via Viama.com trying to salvage some of the $3000.

Viama.com customer service id quoting that they want the follow EXTRA for Rome airfare:

Airline Change Penality per person $300  (600 for two)

Vayama Service Fee per person $100 ($200 for two)

ADDITIONAL AIRFARE per person $2770.00 !!!

ALL OF THIS ON TOP...of the $3000 thay already have of ours for the flight!!!

3 additional phone calls to Vayama and they DO NOT BUDGE!

We are being RIPPED for the entire $3000....flushed down the outhouse!

THIS IS A RIPOFF oo STEROIDS!!!!

$3000 FLUSHED and into the pocket of this RIPOFF COMPANY!!! BEWARE of Kayak, Vayama, Travex!!!

Steve Hefner CEO of Vayama.....SHAME ON YOU AND YOUR KIND!

PS:  FIVE airlines will get us to Rome on our dates with ALL NEW tickets for under $3000.00 per person including Lufthansa!!!!

#1 UPDATE Employee ..inside information

Vayama Travel $6000.00 Ripoff

AUTHOR: VayamaVoice - ()

POSTED: Wednesday, December 10, 2014

While I understand this consumers frustration with the cost to make the changes he requested, contrary to his assertion, the only financial gain Vayama would receive from the changes he requested was from the $200 svc fee we charge for processing the change requested.  The remaining cost all goes to the Airline.

Vayama clearly communicates in the Rules and Policies provided to all consumers using our services that we charge a $100/person processing fee for all changes.  This information is provided in advance of the booking request being submitted and is also added to the booking confirmation emails provided when the booking request has been received by Vayama and ticketed.  With that being the case, this consumer was well aware of the Vayama $100/person change fee.

In addition, the fare rules provided to this OP clearly referenced the tickets he was purchasing were "non refundable".  Yet he references that in his posting as if he had no knowledge of this rule.

When changes are made to an existing airline ticket it is not possible to simply reissue the ticket on another airline.  The changes have to be made on the same airline as originally booked.  So the OPs refernece to other airlines having options to Rome is not relevant.

In closing, I do understand the frustration and the impact this situation has had on this consumer.  However, his focus on Vayama ripping him off with the significant cost to make the changes he's requested is misguided.

Sincerely,

David R

Director Customer Relations
