Tread Quarters Centerville (Chesapeake) Tried to put on lower rated tires at the higher tire price Chesapeake Virginia

I went to this shop on a Saturday requesting a specific brand/rated/size tire. They did not have the tire in stock but indicated they could get it within the hour. After receiving and agreeing to the price, I left my car to to get 4 tires put on. A few hours later, they called and said the tires were on the car but they recommended an alignment. I told them to go ahead and do the alignment. 45 minutes later I got a call saying the car was done. When I arrived, the representative confessed that he put on a lower rated tire. He reason was that I wanted a specific mileage warranty and he couldn't find a tire with the ratings I requested with the mileage I was expecting. Here is the kicker, I thoroughly research the tire I requested before I arrived. The tire I asked for has the warranty I was expecting (from the manufacturer). No matter where you buy this tire, you get the tire, it comes with the same warranty. And on the receipt it had the tires I requested (not the ones they mounted). The ones they mounted are $20 cheaper per tire. I told them I wanted the tire I requested. After a while punching things in the computer, they said they could get me the tires by Monday morning. They said once the tires arrived they'd give me a call. At noon, they still hadn't called so I called them. They said the tires weren't in but they'd call as soon as the tires arrived. At 3:30 I went up to the shop. They claimed the "truck just left that delivered the tires". 40 minutes later (and a day lost from work) the tires I originally asked for were on the car.

Other thigs I observed: on Saturday I witnessed a customer throw a fit that he was told there would be no charge to remove a screw from a tire. When the work was done, They charged him $13 for balancing. He was upset that no one said anything to him about a charge for balancing.

On Monday, I withnessed a customer have a fit about their wheels being scratched. The TQ rep argued that the wheels were not scratched when they did the work so it had to happen after the guy left.

My experience was bad enough. The others just proved to me that this shop is running a con.
