I began working at this company after another trucker told me that I could make more money working there (driving). Little did I know, they do not take taxes out of their checks and are highly unethical. They also were trying to pay me as an independent contractor when I was an employee (they furnished the trucks, diesel, told me when to be at work, where to pick up/drop off loads, etc). I did not know how to do certain wraps and other things that were necessary for driving with this co, so I was paired with a "trainer" who was supposed to simply show me how to do the wraps and then I was going to drive on my own. Instead, this guy was put in my truck for several long, misery filled weeks. I was talked to like scum and he was not allowed to drive a rig. He himself told me that his license (CDL) was suspended. One day, I was being really cautious while manuevering at a destination and he made me get out of the truck and took over to maneuver it, which he was not supposed to be doing with a suspended license. Another time, a co worker parked his personal car in an area that was meant for the rigs only and the employees knew that they were not supposed to park their own vehicles there. The man parked there and I damaged a small area of his vehicle while backing the rig up. Like the honest guy that I am, I told the manager about it and was verbally told that I had to pay for the damages and reimburse them for the body work done. They began deducting this money out of my wages without my permission and I had no choice about them deducting the wages for the damage. Furthermore, the safety manager told me that if I should ever decide to quit, I can, but don't think you are getting your last paycheck and if you report us to the labor board of the state, you still won't get your check, so I never got my last paycheck. The owner told me that I left owing the company money and was not getting the check. When I picked up the last check that I ever got there (shortly before I quit), they were still taking money out for the guys' vehicle damage and money was also taken out to pay the "trainer" who should not have been "training" in the first place. Why I had to pay him out of my own pocket is a mystery to me. My check went down from $1100ish to $700ish and they also had been taking money out for insurance on their rigs the whole time, which I dont think they should've been allowed to do. Because of all of this, I am losing my personal vehicle and have had so much debt come up. Please think twice before doing business with or working with this company. My family has suffered greatly because of their unethical behavior.
