Trident Media - Washington House Publishing Ripped us off in publishing scam RIPOFF Alexandria Virginia
*Consumer Suggestion: Small Press/Publisher Triden Media
This company promised to edit, publish, and promote our book. Editing stank, printing was of poor quality, and other than getting the title onto a few online booksellers, did nothing.
They have only sent us $16.00 in royalties, and they won't respond to our repeated inquiries.
We were proud of our book, Bermuda Crossing, and we got royally ripped off!
If you are contacted by Trident Media (not the legitimate company in NY), Washington House, or Sam Asinugo, please tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine. He's an out and out liar. Don't be a sucker like we were.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
Small Press/Publisher Triden Media
AUTHOR: Eric - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, December 24, 2006
It sounds like Susan expects a small press/publisher to do the job of a large publisher.
Trident Media, as a press, is only responsible for printing the book. The online distribution makes the company a publisher.
You have to pay for a proof-reader and an editor on your own before a press/publisher touches your book. That way you know what will be printed before it is printed.
Press/publisher editing is not proof-reading and word deleting. The editing from a press/publisher is only taking your book from the manuscript stage to the page proof and then book stage.
Trident Media offers online distribution, which is good, but it is difficult to trace YOUR sales from a web site that does not notify YOU of book sales.
(((competitor's name redacted))) can monitor sales, but they have to be notified to monitor sales as soon as the book is released for sale. (((competitor's name redacted))) can only monitor booksales through book stores and companies that have stores and sell online like Barnes & Noble that are linked to (((redacted))).
It would be best to notify Barnes & Noble of the release of the book, start a (((competitor's name redacted))), and inform anyone interested in purchasing to buy only from that company.
You will probably get no help from legal authorities, because the company printed a book and distributed by internet.
In my opinion Trident Media sounds like a legitimate company, that you have to montior through legal means that are available to all involved in the sale of merchandise
sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company your comments on this policy are welcome!
