I started with Uber about a month ago. I had to rent their smart phone ($10 plus $50 per week for 4 week security deposit.) On your Uber app, it shows the rate for the trip-for example $50.06. That is NOT your pay. I worked for 4 days and made $346 and took home $198 of it.
If you want customer service, forget it. They communicate via email only. So if you have a serious problem, go home and email them and wait a day or two for an answer. Never, under any circumstances can you speak to a human being. Email only.
I was deactivated because my ratings were only 4.6 instead of 5. You have no clue as to what the customers are rating you on. I enjoyed my riders so I don't know what the problem was. There is no training and in my case, to be reinstated, I would have had to take a one-on-one class for $100 to "straighten me out."
Stay away.
