United Air Temp Company Ripoff drops maintenance customers who buy new a/c units from cheaper sources Springfield Virginia

This is a large A/C and heating company that has been in business for a while. It offers reasonably priced maintenance services for residential a/c units. The technicians are trained to suggest replacements and upgrades on the units. Often these are unnecessary. But the prices they quote are 50-100% more than what people will find elsewhere. The problem is that when people need new a/c units and find better deals, their maintenance contracts are canceled. And they don't always get their money back. The company says that they are not equipped to repair the new units (but of course will do so when they install them). But repairmen in private say that the purpose of maintenance visits is not in those small amounts - but to convince customers to buy more expensive units. Consumers are advised to ask these questions beforehand (or to go to another company, and there are many that are more reasonably priced and of better reputation - check Washington Checkbook.)
