the main thing here is did you get your CDL? any course that is only 165 hours or 160 hours is way to short to teach you anything more than trucking 101. You paid to get a license. as far as not getting along with your instructors, if you think they were bad wait tell you meet your dispatcher. trucking isn't for wimps and complainers. its a tough job done by tough people. but with out trucks everything stops. there are always jobs out there for drivers that keep their license clean and make deliverirs on time without comlpaining.

Apolinar, sometimes it is a good idea to get the actual address and phone numbers of the satellite school and the corporate headquarters. I am just asking that you think about it.

I think that what you are trying to say is? Due to the poorly trained Instructors lack of professionalism, a hostile condition existed that, when combined with lack of adequate instruction from the belligerent staff, a poor and very dangerous learning environment was created for the student. It should also be noted that despite repeated complaints to management; you and other students had to endure verbally abusive assaults on a daily basis.

OK, here is the situation. The school hired a trucker who was tired of driving OTR. They put that trucker in with a, ?Experienced Instructor,? who yelled and screamed at students for forty hours or so? the school now has a ?Qualified Instructor.? That is the training?

It does not matter how many hours the school put the trucker through. It doesn't matter if California requires 10 hours or 120 hours of training? What happens is the Truck Driving School tells their new employee/instructor, were going to put you with our best instructor and show you how it is done. So, yes? I believe that your statement about ?Belligerent and Verbally Abusive Instructors,? is true and accurate.

It takes a very special and gifted person to be an Instructor!

Did they teach you how to Down Shift? Why do you think that some schools will send a group out with an automatic for the CDL test?

Did you see the Instructors there scream out, ?More Fuel, You Got to Be Faster, More Fuel,? for down shifting? Nobody learned how to downshift did they?

Down shifting a Non-Synchronized Transmission requires about seven steps/rules and 99% of Truck Driving Instructors do not know how to give instructions for a downshift?. So they will try to teach a student how to float a down shift instead.

Apolinar, I am going to tell you something that you will not want to hear? California sets the safety standards for Semi's. What you wrote about is not illegal. Sorry, it will not fly. Let me put it to you this way? yes the tires are bald and the horns don't work and that is OK, nothing wrong with that? Would you like to know why?

I have never been to this place and yes, I do know the answer? They will not give you a brand new $175,000 dollar vehicle to learn how to back up on private property? not going to happen.

You will learn how to backup in junk. You will learn how to backup in a vehicle with a windshield busted out? The horn will not work, there will be an exhaust leak, headlights busted or missing? that is what you will learn to backup in.

Angry students and Instructors tore up the ?Yard Trucks? and that is what you had to learn in? just how angry were you?

I am not saying that it is fair. I am not saying that I agree with it. Yes, you paid a lot of money for that?


Now the vehicle you take out on the road that is a different story. Everything will be working on that vehicle that needs to be working. Don't argue? because there is a good chance that it is the same vehicle you will take your CDL test in. Yes the trucks that you drove out on the street is junk? doesn't matter. It doesn't have to look pretty; it just has to get the job done!

The school and the equipment are inspected by the state every year. Your complaint should be phrased in a way that really helps people know what kind of place this is.

Now the 165 hour course gets my attention: Is this a so called CDL course? Were you going for a class A CDL?

You said that you were not allowed to complete your 165 hour course? did you get your CDL? Or are you saying that you didn't get 165 hours of training? Your contract might say up to 165 hours of training, which does not mean you will get 165 hours.

If you have a CDL license, then you got what they said you would get.

That does not mean you know what you're doing, it does not mean that you get to drive a Semi by yourself. Nobody is going to turn you loose with a $175,000 dollar rig that has a half-million dollars of cargo in it. That takes more training and experience.

That is like a doctor saying? Harvard Medical School ripped me off? so I am not paying. Don't laugh? there are Doctors who say that and they are in big financial trouble.

Yes, your credit score does mean something. If you keep it above 700+ you can get nice cars, nice jobs, great insurance rates, nice apartments and the list goes on? Get below 600 or so? kiss it all good buy?

What kind of car do you want to own and drive? What kind of job do you want to have? What kind of apartment do you want to have? Do you want to own a house? Do you want fair car insurance rates?

Then pay your loan off and be on time! Be on time for all your bills!

It does not matter if you did get your CDL nor does it matter if you didn't. Don't ruin your life over a Student Loan.

Do you know which agency in California regulates that school? Do you know who to complain too? When do you start paying your loan back? If a trucking company is paying off your tuition how will you know that it is being done on time?
