Ok so I went to Upland Automotive to get my car fixed. So I go in there drop my car off to get it looked at because I am having some serious problems. About an hour later some guy called me named shakil shaikh (the owner) he tells me it going to be about $1000 to fix my car, so I say ok fix it . My next question is -- "is that all you found".
Shakil says yes thats it and it would be done in a few hours. I was thinking to myself a few hours... and im spending $1000. ok a few hours passed and he calls me again. I answer and shakil says we found some more problems and its going to be another $1000. Ok no im pretty pissed so ill tell him no im picking it up. So when I get there some old guy named jay came out to tell me the problems and he smelt like beer and cigarettes bad. After explaining shakil came out to curse me out and saying that he doesent need my business because he has all of these accounts and good customers cars to work on. I was totally floored... I didnt cuss rasise my voice or any thing and I got this treatmeant. There was a lady in there sitting in the waiting room and I just looked at here and she told my im sorry. I said mam its not your fault but thank you. Well to make a long story short my company has over 75 trucks we use everyday and I was lookinig for a good shop to take it to but hell dont take to these guys!!!! 1 they were going to rip me off bad, 2 I was treated like s**t. This time I kept my cool because usally when someone talks to me like that it can get ugly, but I thought hey I was the bigger adult here. So I take my car to another shop down the street (no Names) and it ended up costing me only $250!!! The price went from $2000 to $250 in a few hours and I gave the mechanic a $100 tip for being honest with me. These guys are getting my business from know on.. The moral of the story is just because of a new shop new area don TRUST ANYONE ESPECIALLY SHAKIL AND JAY BECAUSE THEY A CROOKS!!!!!

OH BY THE WAY WHEN A NEW CUSTOMER COMES IN SHAKIL DONT PREACH TO THEM ABOUT THE MUSLIM RELIGION BECAUSE WE DON'T CARE AND DONT EAT THAT FOOD YOU WERE EATING IN THE OFFICE BECAUSE IT ABOUT MADE ME THROW UP!!

DONT GO TO UPLANDAUTOMOTIVE INC. UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!!

Complaint is clearly a complete fabrication

 Having been to Upland Auto for many years this completely false complaint irritates me each time I see it. It is clear the author either has never been to Upland Auto or was an employee that was let go. Honest reliable friendly accurate and excellent service. Never an unnecessary repair or attempt to sell a service that is not yet needed. Upland will fix your car right the first time every time. We would not take our cars to get repaired anywhere else. Do not believe this report but believe the positive comments posted by those that have given rebuttals from actual experience with Upland Auto. Do yourself a favor and ignore this fabricated Ripoff Report and have your car fixed by the best mechanic and most ethical shop in Houston. We will continue taking our cars to Ipland Auto.

Honest, Gracious and Ethical

Adding my two cents to this conversation.  I have had lots of work done by Upland Automotive and I have found them to stand behind there work.  Sometimes a repair does not go well.  That happened to us.  It was Thanksgiving weekend and we were left stranded in Austin 150 miles from home.  I made a call to Shakil.  His response was "Give me some time to work it out and we will come get it."  I said, "We are in Austin."  He said, "I know.  We will come get it."

I had been working to get a trailer and a UHaul to get the car back to Houston.  I was very pleased at Shakil's response.

In the mean time we got a rental car to finish our vacation and get home.  Two days later Shakil called to say the car was ready, there would be no charge and he would pay for the vehicle transport and our rental car.

I picked up the car and it has run properly ever since.

I am responsible for 6 cars and Upland Auto takes care of all of them.  We believe in Shakil and Jay.  They are both good people with our best interest at heart.

The Highest Integrity

This "Rip-Off" report is bogus.  I have been a customer of Upland automotive for 10 years and have known Shekil the entire time.  We used his shop when he was at the previous location off I-10.  This shop has literally saved us thousands of dollars over the years.  I recommend this shop to anyone that will listen.  Shekil is an honorable man and treats my entire family with the utmost respect and integrity.  The bigoted rant about the Muslim propaganda is unequivocally absurd.  I am Christian.  The owner's religion is none of my business nor does it concern me.  And I most certainly have NEVER heard any religious discussions from any person ever.  It is a place of business and an auto shop.  The employees and the owners talk about cars.  I am so disappointed in this review.  I cannot express strongly enough how false this report is.  My family, my friends nor myself have ever had any complaints aout Upland Automotive.

FALSE ALLEGATIONS! - Upland is the most honest auto shop I know!

I am a long-time customer of Upland Automotive, and I can say with confidence that the allegations filed in this report against Upland Automotive, Skakil and Jay are nothing more than LIES! The very first time I visited Upland I was so impressed with the honesty and quality of work done, I was sold. Shakil and Jay have been very honest and upfront from day one. They always go the extra mile to make sure their customers are taken care of and satisfied. I know I can trust them to not overcharge me or anyone else I send to them. They will discuss your vehicle's problems with you and even show them to you, and tell you how much everything will cost before working on your vehicle.


Shakil and Jay are not only honest about what needs to be done, they are honest about what doesn't need to be done. I have seen them walk away from a lot of extra money that they could have made if they had not been honest and said, "That is fine, you don't need that." Even if they do recommend fixing something, you will never be stuck with a bill that is going to be more than you were quoted, like the author of this report claims. They don't do any work without your consent, and without first discussing the additional costs. If you don't like the quote you can take your vehicle somewhere else, but I don't know why you would. I would trust Shakil with my life! Anyone who accuses him of being a "CROOK" is full of "you know what." You sir (Joshua) are a LIAR!

If you are looking for a good shop that has people you can trust, you should go to Upland automotive. A couple years ago my brother had some trouble with his car and he thought what he was quoted was a little high. I asked him, "Can you make it to Houston?" HE WAS IN ABILENE!!! I believe that much in the quality of Upland's work, and more importantly the HONESTY and INTEGRITY of the owner Shakil.

My name is Shakil Sheikh and I am the owner of Upland Automotive. The claim made by the alleged "customer" is totally false and without any basis in fact or reality. This alleged incident did not happen and I offer a challenge to the accuser to prove his claim.


If this individual can come forward with any proof that I called him, such as a telephone record showing either my business or personal phone number, then I will pay him $1,000. If this individual can produce documentation and the "mechanic" from "down the street" that charged him $250 for the alleged repairs, I will also pay that mechanic $1,000.


This disingenuous "customer" is in actuality someone that I fired for poor performance. The Texas Work Force Commission vindicated my action by denying this individuals unemployment claim. While this denigrater was in my employment he attempted to send a similar "rip-off" claim against his former employer. I stopped him from doing that.


In conclusion, let this besmircher come forward with proof (documentation and/ or witnesses) and he will receive his reward.

Can anyone believe that a person owning 75 trucks reached that level of success

and is unable to make a written statement without using atrocious grammar and profanity?

The $100 tip scenario and the religious slur are pathetic - - - especially coming from "the bigger adult."

 Perhaps a truculent, recalcitrant ex-employee is lurking behind anonymity.
