UPS & Downtown HUB Maurice & Renee Package was recieved & signed for by HUB but package never left HUB & investigation originally was closed in 3 hours, normal proceedure is 8 day investigation. Los Angeles California

We are a jewelry store in Newport Beach, CA that shipped a package with an expensive diamond bracelet, a sample ring & a clients diamond with instructions to make ring for client's diamond.  Now we have our own insurance upto $25,000.  The items "lost" allegedly stolen add up to a retail value of $50,000.  When I realized the package did not make the destination I contacted our

UPS store next to our store in Newport Beach.  They contacted their sources to track package & find out that the package is somewhere at the downtown UPS hub at 1800 North Main Street in downtown Los Angeles, California 90013.  In three hours they closed the investigation which normally takes 8 days.  By closing out the investigation they issue $100 insurance payment to the UPS store

to cover our loss.  Our loss is no where near that amount. We have tried numerous numbers to contact the hub directly & have gotten no where.  We spoke with a nice optomistic woman by the name of Luvella.  We also spoke with a Cecelia whom was no help.  I spoke with a represetative from UPS corporate in charge of customer relations & she was rude (800)789-4623.  I also spoke with a

supervisor Renee that confirmed that the case was closed in the 3 hour window but told me that regardless of the time that they conducted a full investigation in that 3 hour time frame, which normally takes 8 days.  He said if they went through the check list in 3 hours or 8 days it was complete.  I requested that they reopen the investigation.  Renee instructed me that they could not reopen

investigation becuase the UPS store was the shipper not us.  I asked Renee who & why is he covering for someone & he told me he did not want to be invloved because I told him we will be holding them reposnsible for the loss.  The bracelet I can remake, the customer's diamond I can not replace their sentiment form their wedding.  My coworker Betty got Maurice at the Hub & he said they

were still searching for our package & he gave her his private number (323)276-2663.  We got excited & waited a few more days.  Betty called Maurice back & now he tells Betty that he doesn't know who she is nor any clue on our package or what we were talking about & that it was the wrong hub.  We called the police to make a police report & they said it is a UPS issue & must be taken

up with them.  Then we contacted the FBI & they replied the same but instructed me to contact the BBB, the US Postal fruad (has nothing to do with USPS) along with the Federal Motor Carrier Consumer Complaint hotline (does not handle these situations).  So I still have no means of justice, no one held accountable & a very expensive lesson for us & may lose a customer over this.  I have

called many UPS enities because no one has the correct number & no one of any real status in the company can be contacted.  So I am forced to air my frustration with UPS on here hoping I am not the only one this has happened to & a class action lawsuit is the begining to make UPS a trustworthy company.  Unfortunately I have no confidence with UPS anymore & will not do any shipping

with them anymore.  Because they are such a large company, I do not matter.  Hopefully all of us that have been wronged by the shipping giant & its shady employees can be vindecated with a class action lawsuit.  Fire all bad employees & make sure when we ship a package, it gets to the location safely & in a timely manner like they claim they do.
