The package they packed and mailed, has not arrived so unless I follow up on that aspect i.e. packing etc., it may be assumed it was satisfactory. The complaint I have with Mr. Scott Mowbray is as follows: We as a Lawfirm purchased eight(8) small items for clients at an online auction, six(6) of which could have fit into a food take out size box easily, the other two(2) a small 12x14 painting and a dresser set of four(4) small pieces would have reqired a slightly larger box, when all was shipped together. For 2 day U.P.S. shipping and packing we paid just under $87, from Ohio to Georgia. HEREIN LIES THE RUB.....
We were supposed to receive it on THURS the 12th of DEC. 2013 . That morning we called to check on delivery time and were surprised to find out it was STILL IN OHIO! When we spoke to Melissa Mowbray at U.P.S. Store #3844, at first she said it was delayed and she didn't know ehen it would be delivered. We then called U.P.S. TRACKING HQ and were told they could not tell us when it would be delivered because they were dealing with a MASSIVE BACKLOG OF PACKAGES. They told me to call U.P.S. STORE #3844 and to put in a claim for a refund, the amount to be determined when the package was delivered, as to how long it took. I knew my clients would ask me to do this, as we had used this store based on the Auction House's recommendation! When I did SCOTT MOWBRAY answered the phone, I explained the foregoing and he immediately said "YOU"RE NOT GETTING A REFUND"!
I explained again what the U.P.S. HQ HAD SAID AND HE SAID AGAIN... I'M TELLING YOU...YOU'RE NOT GETTING ANY REFUND! I TRIED TO EXPLAIN I WAS A LAWYER WHO DEALT WITH COLLECTORS ESTATES AND WE HAD PAID FOR 2 DAY DELIVERY AND HAD TIME SENSITIVE ITEMS, THAT PEOPLE HAD STARTED LONG DRIVING TRIPS TO COME AND PICK THEM UP, WHEN HE INTERUPTED AND SAID; "WHY ARE YOU TELLING ME YOU'RE A LAWYER...WHY IS THAT IMPORTANT? I EXPLAINED THE AFOREMENTIONED REASON AND that I would call U.P.S AND COMPLAIN ABOUT HIS CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ATTITUDE PROBLEM. He then made a SERIOUS MISCALCULATION AND THREATENED TO HAVE THE ITEMS RETURNED TO HIS STORE AND SAID I WOULD HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER WAY TO HAVE THEM SHIPPED! I calmly told him, you do that and I will sue you! OH! YOU WILL COME TO OHIO OVER $86!
I SAID NO, I WILL DRAW UP A LAWSUIT AND MAIL IT TO YOUR LOCAL COUNTY CLERK AND HAVE YOU SERVED THERE, UNDER THE GEORGIA LONGARM STATUTE, WHICH GIVES GEORGIA COURTS VENUE IN THIS MATTER BECAUSE U.P.S. REGULARLY DOES BUSINESS IN THIS STATE! He seemed to realize that the $86 was not what mattered to me, once he threatened me. I have never sued anyone as a named Plaintiff in 37 years of practicing law. Being a lawyer is what I DO, IT IS NOT WHO, I AM! However with SCOTT MOWBRAY'S INATE ABILITY TO RATCHET UP THE SITUATION WITH HIS COMPLETE AND TOTAL LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND RELATIONS, HE MAY BE MY FIRST! I ALSO NOTICE I AM NOT THE FIRST PERSON TO COMPLAIN ABOUT HIM ON THE INTERNET, SO THAT MAKES ME WONDER HOW MANY HAVE HAD PROBLEMS AND DID NOT GO TO THE TROUBLE, WE POSTERS DID? I AM NOW FORWARDING THIS AS AN EMAIL TO U.P.S. CORPORATE HQ.
P.S. GOOD LUCK MR. MOWBRAY I HOPE YOU HAVE LEARNED FROM THIS AND BTW IF YOU DON'Y THINK I WAS SERIOUS ABOUT TEACHING YOU SOME GOOD OL' FASHION MANNERS, MY TIME CLOCK FOR BILLING SAY AS OF NOW, WITH THE TIME I HAVE SPENT ON THE MATTER [INCLUDING A CALL TO THE AUCTION HOUSE AND THIS POSTING] I COULD HAVE BILLED A CLIENT $507.50. I CAN FEEL GOOD ABOUT THAT, BECAUSE I WILL EAT LUNCH AT MY DESK AND ALMOST MAKE IT ALL UP AND THEN WORK A FEW MINUTES LATE AND THEN BE EVEN. WHAT WILL THIS POST COST YOU AND U.P.S. OVER THE YEARS!
