We contracted with Valley Trenching to trench and install conduit for primary and secondary electrical lines.  They demanded payment early and in return promised to complete work per plan and as instructed, and if anything that was done wrong, they would return to correct. The primary line work was done correctly, but the secondary line work was not done according to APS diagram and customer’s instruction. We asked Valley Trenching several times to return and correct their work on the secondary conduit line. They have not returned.

The day of the work, before work started, Valley Trenching asked us to show up to tell them where we wanted the secondary line trenched and where it should turn and stop. We showed up to do just that, although very early in the morning.  We instructed Valley Trenching that per guidance they need to keep at least two feet away from the property line.  We told Jason, the main site worker, we intend to put a wall fence along the property line.  Jason acknowledged that he understood.  He said he may need to do four feet into the property due to vegetation.  We told Jason okay, more is fine, just not less than two feet.  Then we showed Jason where to turn up and stop.  He acknowledged and even helped us mark this location.

During the evening we showed up to check other things going on at our property.  We saw that Valley Trenching was still working.  As we got ready to leave, the owner (Bill), hounded us for payment.  We told him that work was not yet completed and wanted to wait to pay after completion.  Bill insisted and pressured us to pay saying that they would work through the night to complete work so we need to pay while we were there. Seeing that we were reluctant, Bill convinced us through a hand shake promise that we have his word that work would be done according to plan and they would come back to correct if it wasn't. We gave Bill the check in full, seeing that they were still working at late hours and thinking that Bill, the owner, would honor his words.

We checked on the work the following day, and saw that the secondary line was not done according to APS guidance and our instruction.  We called Valley Trenching immediately.  Bill the owner reassured us again that he would return if needed.  Then another day later, APS came to the lot to inspect. The inspector showed us pictures that the secondary conduit line falls short of the 2 feet minimum requirement from the property line like we thought.

We again reached out to Valley Trenching and provided pictures from APS as proof that they didn’t do their work as instructed for the secondary line. By this time, our check had cleared our account and money was in their account. The hand-shake promise and the second reassurance over the phone were con tactics to convince and pressure us to pay early and stall for time for the check to clear our account and into theirs.  They no longer pick up when we call nor respond to our emails.  Beware of how this company conducts business.

Dishonest Company Owner

AUTHOR: Mrs Ieng - (USA)

POSTED: Thursday, August 18, 2016

I am the old woman at the property that witnessed the owner Bill hounded my daughter for money before work was completed. And there were others there too that could attest to this man’s action and promise that day.

She was reluctant to pay him before work was done, and according to the contract she wasn’t supposed to pay until work was completed. But he hounded her, demanded, and pressured her to pay him in full.  He even accused her of mistrusting and promised her with a hand shake that he would do good on his work and gave his word that he would return to fix if anything was wrong. We all watched this.  She paid him and we all left the property late evening while they were still working.

When we returned and saw work was done wrong.  Both my daughter and son called Bill and the company several times.  They wouldn’t pick-up or respond to my daughter and son’s email to come fix their work.

We should have picked up that this company was up to no good right when the owner Bill hounded and demanded money before work was completed and verified.  Because no honest company or man that meant well would pressure customer for money before work was completed according to plan.  What a despicable, horrible man the owner is! It’s sad that people like that exist, preying on unguarded, innocent customers.

What A Lie!

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Thursday, August 18, 2016

Wow, what a lie Valley Trenching owner Bill put on this site! There were several people there on site seeing Bill demanding and hounding for money before work was completed, including my old mother and the neighbor adjacent from us. They all witnessed this and can attest to his action.

APS only passed you on the primary line not the secondary line. They don’t pass or fail on secondary line’s location. That part was counting on your company to do the job right, as diagramed by APS and instructed by the customer who hired and paid you.  That’s why APS helped provide us pictures that shows you failed to comply to instruction for the secondary line so that you would return to correct for the customer. APS coordinator would have clearly told you this if you called her.

You knew the procedure, that’s why you asked us to show up and to inform and instruct Jason where we wanted the secondary line to lay and where to end.  Why would you ask for the customer to show up and inform and instruct you to where the secondary line should be just before the job started, if you weren’t going to follow?  Your practice doesn’t make sense!

Before the job you did not tell us that you were taking the job to just pass APS inspection on the primary line only and were going to not do as you were instructed on the secondary line (and we paid you a good chuck for this). Who would hire you if you stated to the customer that you worked for APS and not the customer?  Even APS is puzzled as to why you did not listen and take care of your customer?  And that you were our hired contractor and not theirs?

Before the money cleared our account you admitted that you have been wrong before and can be wrong again, so you would come fix the secondary line if needed.  How could we mistaken all this!  My husband asked you to put off cashing the check, and in turn you reminded him of your promised handshake to us and that we have your word to return to fix what wasn't done correctly. Again, how can we mistake all this!

After the money cleared our account, you stopped taking our calls and emails and sent us vague text messages about other potential work, rather than committing to fixing the problem like you promised.  The truth is you are dishonest, even in your response to this post. We hope this reach customers who don't know your company and the way you practice.

Customer Mistaken

AUTHOR: Valley Trenching - (USA)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 17, 2016

We preformed the job referenced per our signed contract with this customer We did everything outlined in the contract and many extras - with no extra charges to the customer.

The payment terms in the signed contract are payment at completion, which is when we were paid, with no pressure and/or demands to the customer.

We assured the customer that our work would pass APS inspection, or we would return and fix our work to APS's satisfaction. All of our work passed inspection, as promised.

We have been in business for over 39 years and have never had a complaint or negative review.
