Received green letter offering me an extended warranty for my car.  I called the number given.  I was quoted a price & told it was only good during this phone call. When I stated that the price was too high, they came back with a different offer.

They said if i didn't pay right away, they couold not guarantee a price or acceptance of coverage.

I requested time to discuss with my spous, but they pressured to give a downpayment that I would be able to get back within 30 days.

I told them I would pass until I had time to check them out. Something just didn't sit right with the way they pressured me.

I work for a brokerage firm that sells 3rd party service contracts such as these. I do agree, sometimes the highly motivated sales can be overwhelming, however, these policies are time sensitive, and typically your vehicle has to even qualify for coverage to be offered. Age and mileage plays a big role, along with lapsing in coverage. You do have 30 days to opt out of a policy, and receive a full refund. That allows you time to review the coverages, do research about the Administrator (the ones responsible for paying claims), which is the #1 priority. It doesn't matter what company sells the policy, the company paying for the repairs/claims is what matters most. I know it won't change your feeling towards highly motivated sales pitch, but in that fine print you'll notice AutoAssure, LLC. They are a VPA certified company, I know this because I also work for a VPA certified company. We HAVE to follow strict scripting during time of sale, on the sales call, we cannot mislead customers in the coverages we offer, and our calls are monitored and audited by the VPA to ensure we are following proper protocol. Again, I do understand the feelings you have, but maybe this will give a better understanding as to why the calls are handled in the manner they are.
