Warning for persons seeking vehicle history information on used vehicles: vehiclehistory247.com advertises a history report for 2.95 and if you click thru the facade to get the report they later say you agreed to a 29.95/mo billing for their services (if you didn't call within a 7-day period to cancel membership) which is immediately billed on or before that 7th day after the initial report (non-refundable, of course). I ordered a report on the 5th of the month, and got another credit card billing for 29.95 on the 11th. Called the merchant who refused to do anything to change the account or charges. Then filed a fraud report with the credit card company and called them to explain the dispute. Credit card companies say they have no way to stop these kind of billings, but they will continuously dispute future charges, if I wish. There may be no way to stop the first 29.95 billing, but future ones can be continuously disputed and remain disputed indefinitely. I told the credit card company that I would cancel the credit card if they did not stop future billings. They responded that they have fraud protection services on the card, and indicated that would reimburse any real damages. But that would apply to future billings after I had called the merchant to cancel any future services, which I already did. Note that even though I told the merchant I was cancelling any memberships or future services, the merchant did not acknowledge the request or even respond to it.
The call center at the vehiclehistory247.com was also so noisy that talking to a representative was difficult and almost every sentence or information discussed had to be repeated several times to be able to understand the discussion. This is obviously an India-based call center with no customer service in mind serving websites like vehiclehistory247.com.
