My wife and I gave to Veracity Motor Company a check for $1,100 with the
understanding that we would be the new owners of the business. The $1,100 paid
for the dealer license renewal, Bond and also the down payment for dealers
insurance. Renee Brown the owner of Veracity cashed our check and then decided
she wanted to stay in business for herself. Now she has refused to return our
money. It was a scam to get money for her to stay in business. We are now
seeking legal advice on what to do.
Advice - Never, Never, Never trust a used car dealer that does not want to put anything in writing and plays on the assumption you'll take them at their word. And when you do and they have you right where they want you they will take advantage of you.
We have contacted the attorney generals office who has referred us to some better lawyers who have advised us to press a charges against her as the owner/manager and the business for fraud. We are in the process of working with local law enforcement to help us file the reports.
