Vergona-Bowesox Electric inc. Over charged me on items that were purchased through them and never refunded my money in full because Mike the owner said that the electrician was at my house for 10 hours doing work and he wasn't. Boca Raton, Florida

I called Vergona-Bowersox Electric, Inc. because I needed some work done on my home. I was told that the fee would be 65.00 dollars and hour. I agreed and they sent an electrician out to my house to go over some of the things that I needed to have done. I told the electrician that I needed a ceiling fan fixed which would require a tall ladder, I needed him to install an electrical box on my new island, run lights above and under my cabinets, fix my pool light and change a light fixture at my font door. I asked him how long it would take? He said to me well we like to work on an 8 hour day. So I asked how many days should it take? he said it could take 8 to 10 hours.  I asked him if he was able to do the work and if he has done cabinerts lights before. He said oh yes.So I agreed to let him do the work. I told him specificly what I wanted as far as lights. They had to be dimmable. He says no problem so off to the store he goes. He is gone 2 hours. ok no big deal to me right. I found out later on that I was wrong they charge travel time and time it takes them to shop. I didn't know that. He gets the lights to my house tries to hook them up. It's taking him a long time that I finally say to him I hope I'm not paying you to figure out how to get these to work when you told me you did. He gets all nervous and is making me nervous. He got the lights on but never ran the roll in the kitchen he wanted me to see what they looked like. Well they weren't dimmable. Now he is on the phone with the place he bought them. They tell him to return them and exchange them for dimmable ones at the same price. So he decided to do it the next day. Fine. I bought the lights for 963.26 because thats what they cost I figured I was getting them.

He comes to my house the next day and does the other work except for the fan and the outside light. He gives me a bill that says he worked 13.5 hours. I than said to him you told me you needed 8 to 10 hours to do the job your not even near done. He than tells me that he will work something out with me and not to worry about it. So I wrote him a check for his hours of 877.50 and the lights for 993.26. Total check was written for  $1870.76. He came out the next day and I told him to take the lights off that I did not want them. He says that his boss Mike will send me a check when the job is done. He comes out to my house with another man  at 3 in the afternoon to fix my ceiling fan and raplace the light at my front door. He brought the wrong size ladder tries to put the ladder up and scratches my ceiling because he measured wrong. He leaves to get the right size and shows up at 6. It took him and his friend an hour and half to do what they had to do.

Next day I call the office to get my refund check and Mike the owner telle me that i owe him $100.00. I told him he is mistaken. He says to me that he sent to guys out to my house and he charged me 130.00 and hour and they were there for 4 hours. I told him they were there for hour and half. He tells me I also have to pay traveling time. I than tell him that I was told 65 and hour and I had no ideaI I had to pay traveling time for there mistake. I asked MIike to show me a receipt because I was not given one. He gets nasty with me an than says well how much should I refund you? I said to be fair, which I'm being the fair one atleast 800.00. I'ts not my fault he said he new what he was doing when he didn't. Why should I pay for his mistakes. I am going to be taking Vergona-Bowersox to small claims court to get all my money back. If you do business with these people please get a written stament and don't take there word. They are LIARS.
