I have a cell phone account with Verizon. I have auto matic withdrawels from my checking account every month on the 4th of the month. This is so I am not late and have no need to worry about interrrupted service from missing payments. Verizon for some reason STOPPED for two months the payments, then sent me a bill (which I usually do not get paperbills) to pay the entire amount due of 405.63. I paid a hundred with intentions to pay the rest before the due date. When asked they had no reasoning for the sudden stopping of the payments. I went on vacation only to return home to no service...this was not on the bill there was no warning etc. I paid the balance due thinking that this would rectify the situation. Before doing this I checked to make sure that this amount was not going to be withdrawn from my account automatically on the 4th. It was not set to be withdrawn, so on the 4th I made the payment. Now having a zero balance I thought finally this was fixed. On the 6th I noticed they had tried another withdrawel making my checking account that I have for my bills negative! The bank denied this withdrawel. They then withdrew another 405.63 on the 10th, after making a deposit to cover the bills for the month this payment cleared. I noticed this on my account that morning. I called verizon immediatly to get my money back. They proceeded to tell me that it would take 7-14 days to get a refund mailed to me, I told them this is unacceptable. It took them only 3-6 days to with drawn over 800 dollars from my account and I would like my money back very quickly...as we all have bills to pay. The girl put me on hold only to come back and explain that it was MY fault the payment came out twice. That when I made the online payment to 0 out the account it started the automatic payments that had stopped bc of non payment(little did I know they werent being paid) and once my payment of 405 cleared the automatic system charged another 405.63 to the account giving me a -405.63 with Verizon. I told them that is crazy...I had to pay my bill manually so that they could then continue to take more money out!! Does that even make sense! I argued with the CSR on the phone and then finally asked for the number to there treasury dept so I could speak with them myselve and get this situation solved. She then informed me that they do not communicate with them by phone only by computer and there is no number!?!?! I asked to speak to a supservisor and advised that I would appreciate a call from one between 12-1 as I will be at lunch and did not want to further discuss this at work. I did not hear from anyone. I called back at 12:45 only to have to tell the story over again and get no where with a new CSR and ask again for a supervisor to call, to which I was informed they do not make any outgoing phone calls....really a phone company that cant make outgoing calls!! I told my new CSR that I was already told that a call back would be made prior so he said someone would call me back at 1:15...its 3:45 and I have no heard a word. Tell me how can they be so quick to take your money and so slow to give it back. I now and down 405.63 because of a mistake on there end and tehy wont give me my money!! What kind of company is this!

Contact Bank for unauthorized charge

If this is under 60 days, contact your bank immidiately and let them know they used your bank account illigally to charge more. Show them you paid, and then show them the second charge that they refuse to give back or refusing to adknowledge. Most banks will reverse the charge and if this will make you the least bit happy, know this. Most company banking acounts get hit with higher fees, so by you doing this they might get hit with a $30 to $60 bounce check fee, which serves them right. Did the same myself a few days ago, and taking them to small claims court, but in the mean time you can get your money back much faster using the bank. Hope thsi works for you.
