Vertanen Industries/Michael J. Vertanen (officer of the company) borrowed $525,000 in 2009 from my elderly, overtrusting father under the guise of helping a church move/relocate in West Chicago, IL. The loan was suppose to be a one year loan. Interest for the first year was paid, but Mr. Vertnanen has made NO ATTEMPT to pay anything since. He hides under the corporate veil, despite his property holdings in Manitowic, WI and Cary, IL.
Mr. Vertanen repeatedly mentioned in 2009 that the Church was so thankful that my father loaned him the money. Ironically though, for the last three years, Mr. Vertanen has purposely made himself scarce, and we have since learned he has quite a history of legal judgements against him.
Stay away from this individual as the words ethics and morals are not words in his vocabulary.
