I read the report already posted here on this site about Victoria Insurance. So far i can confirm one thing Victoria Insurance advertises on their website, that they specialize in "non-standard" drivers. Non-standard drivers is a politically correct term for high risk drivers or drivers that can't drive well. I might go so far as to say their customer who hit me can't drive at all and should not even be on the road.

I was hit by their customer in a RIDICULOUS crash yesterday, Saturday 12/6/10. I have to wait till tomorrow, which is Monday to recieve the police report and begin the claim process.

After the crash last night, I googled "insurance claim scams" and found plenty of evidence proving what most of you probably already know... that some insurance companies make their money by ripping claimants off.

After reading the google results and the report already posted here, I do not have any illusions that tomorrow I will begin a long process that will result in a fair or maybe even lawful offer from their adjuster. Incidently, I found out through my google query that most if not all adjusters profit directly from the money they might scam claimants out of. In other words, some of the money that the adjuster might try to cheat me out of will most likely go directly into his or her pocket.

Now, of course this could all prove to be untrue.

I might call and  experience "excellent claims service" as their website professes. When I report back here soon, I might have to say that they are an excellent insurance company with whom you would do well to do business with.

Please check back often as I promise to finish this adventure with more correspondance in great detail... either way....good or bad.

Is the other report here a common occurance? Or was it an isolated incident? Will I be treated fairly and with respect? Or will they try to victimize me? What kind of insurance company is Victoria Insurance? Stay tuned to find out!

Day 1 of Claim Process

AUTHOR: Ralph Mackens - (United States of America)

Today, I went down and picked up my police report. Today is Monday 12/6/10. The date mentioned in my earlier post is 2 days off. It was actually 12/4/10 on Saturday the day of the crash.

On the Police report under Human Factors, the entry attributed to me was None Detected.

Under Human Factors, the entry attributed to the lady who hit me was Disregard Traffic Control and Inattention. Its seems pretty straight forward at this point.

I call Victoria Insurance and talk to a lady named Lidia. Lidia has a wonderful voice. It was welcoming and seemed geniunely interested in helping me. At this point, if everything keeps going as it is, I won't be just satisfied, I will be happy and will consider switching to Victoria Insurance. She answers my questions enthusiastically and is a pleasure to work with. I hang up and wait for the adjuster to call.

Later today promptly at 5pm, a man calls me who says his name is Shan Hasn with Victoria Insurance. I ask him if  he is an adjuster and he replies that he is. He asks me what happened, and I told him in as great detail as I felt he wanted. I left out  as many emotional parts as I could and tried to just give him what he wanted, which was cold hard facts.

He was very polite. He asked me to send him the police report which I did immediately, and before our conversation was over he had my report in his hand. I felt this was the right time to ask him for a rental car, which he replied he could not until he interviewed his customer and got a reply from the appraiser that he says he is sending to look at my car.

I asked him for an estimated time that he would have a rental car  for me as it has already been 2 full days since the accident. He replies that it is possible by tomorrow. I asked him if he was sure that was the law, because of all the reports I read about Victoria's parent company, Nationwide not educating their adjusters correctly on the law. He replied that he was "110%" sure that was the law. I  now have my first incentive to go and learn Kentucky Law with an actual real world application. Homework!

I then felt it was time to make him aware of ripoffreport.com and the wonderful service that they provide. I ask him to go to google with me and enter "Victoria Insurance rip off". I ask him what he sees just under his company's advertisement in the results, he replies that he sees another report there, but not mine.

I ask him to type in "Victoria Insurance scams". He replies that he now sees my entry -2nd result just under his company's advertisement. However, at this point he does not know that this is my initial post that I made last night. He wants to talk about the reason he is doing all this. I reply that I am about to show him.

I ask him to click on the link, and he replies that he does not want to because he doesn't know where it will take him. I reply that when you type in google and get results that the title of the result is in blue and if he will look at the bottom of the result he will see in green letters the name of the website that he will go to when he clicks on the link. He replies that he already knows this. At this point, I have my first suspicion that my claim might not receive "excellent claims service"

If he already knows that the name of the website the link will take him to is at the bottom of each result, why would he insist that he doesn't know where clicking on the link will take him? I  sense that he is trying to be difficult.

I then again ask him to click on the link, he replies that his computer will not let him. He says that his server or computer system at Victoria Insurance has blocked ripoffreport.com. In some ways, I find this doubtful. In other ways, I find it possible and highly humorous.

I ask him if he has a computer at home and he says yes. I ask him when he gets home to click on the link. He now seemingly becomes more honest and replies that he doesn't want to. I was tempted to say I already knew that, but I resisted.

At this point, he is interrupting me repeatedly and tries to change the subject back to the claims process, as if he had not explained it already. If you have read the initial report I posted last  night, you will know I have read many articles on insurance adjuster secret tricks. He uses a tactic to advert attention from himself to someone else in his company.

Even though he again interrupted me to do so, I begin to politey listen to it all. I then let him understand the purpose of me asking him to come to ripoffreport.com

I reveal that the 2nd result he found on google is actually my first report on the very claim he was currently working on. I explain to him that he and his team will be the de facto composers of this entire article compilation. Virtually, he and his team will write it all. If the claims process is indeed "excellent", then I will  make sure every reader knows this. I might even switch to Victoria Insurance or Nationwide.

Curiously, he didn't see this as a positive. He replied that he did not care and I was free to  report whatever I wanted. I assured him that I already knew that I could and that I in fact was. Also, I assured him that I wasn't asking his permission.

At this point, as you can probably tell, things were getting tense. I began to explain in great detail the purpose of all this. He stopped interrupting me and did not speak for some time.

I sensed that maybe I was being rude, and politely explained to him that I wasn't trying to be rude or bully him, I just wanted his team to know up front, that either way...good or bad... I was going to make sure that ripoffreport.com's readers would know this story. I didn't want to be shady or underhanded and catch him in a trap.  I wanted to be honest and upfront and give him and his team the chance to make a great impression on the world.

Because he earlier interrupted me repeatedly, but now he was listening (maybe) politely with no interruptions, I felt it was neccessary to thank him for his patience and all his time he has spent with me on the phone.

We agreed that I most likely would hear from him or his team tomorrow tuesday 12/7/10.
