Never buy a Virgin Mobile cell phone... why you may ask well here is my experience with them.


I got screwed out of $221.00 (Canada)!!! here is what happend. I was dissatisfied with the customer service when my new razor2 phone started to mess up, so I sent it in because I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, I asked the phone rep should i send in the charger and memory card rep said yes so I did. well they sent my phone back 4 weeks later claiming water damage which is BS because I never used it in the rain, brought it into the bathroom nothing near water of any kind other then the humitity outside in the summer. well they wouldn't replace my charger or my memory card so i dumped the 3 year contract after 2 years.


I was paying my monthly bill by credit card online since that was easier. Well after I cancelled them they took the $221.00 off the credit card for me, since I cancelled early. (thought if I was no longer a customer they couldn't do that but they did). So I paid the bill with my credit card a few days later, so that it would not go to the collectors.


When I got my credit card statement I realized they got double payment! I called them on Sept. 1st 2009 to address the issue. Well I assumed this would be simple because of their "excellent customer service", well it wasn't! The first rep I talked to told me I had to wait 90 days minimum to get my moeny back because I might have roaming charges on the cell, I know there isn't. I asked for a supervisor that rep told me the same thing, then told me that I will be getting a call from his supervisor on Sept. 8th, 2009. I still have yet to recieve that call, so I called them again.


This rep was VERY rude to me and when I asked for a supervisor 3 times, he refused to provide one, which is against the law after the 3rd time you ask. (I work at a call center, its law all over Canada and the USA). This rep told me that the deptartment AP (which he THINKS is finance) is reviewing my information. This rep didn't even know who was looking into this issue! But he pretty much told me that I am shit out of luck for my money until a minimum 90 days has past. I then asked if I get interest on my money they are holding, since they would charge me interest if the bill wasn't paid..he had no answer. He then reminded me that the call was being recorded, becuase i told him that the varity store I work at sells virgin mobile phones along with another name brand and that I would not recommend them!


And I still would not wish even my enemies to get a virgin mobile cell phone!!!


Save yourself the hassel DON'T get one!!!!!!!

This rep was VERY rude to me and when I asked for a supervisor 3 times, he refused to provide one, which is against the law after the 3rd time you ask. (I work at a call center, its law all over Canada and the USA).

I can't say that there is or is not a law in Canada about this 3rd time rule.  But I have never heard of a US law that covers this.  So if you would please give us the exact law you are referencing.  I am sure that this is a law that everyone can use.
