It is now the end of April. They came in at $2200 (just like my neighbors, in fact the exact same, lol) and told me it was a deal for right now only, sign on the spot or they might not be able to honor it. I said I have to run it by my husband 1st, so I will take my chances. Over the weekend, my husband question the dirt cheap bid, but they had said they do a great prep job and use quality paint from Kwaul Paint. SO I talked my husband into saving money and going with vivax.
1st day they came and powerwashed on weds. Then said we are on the schedule to paint. I told them I wanted the house to dry for at least 3-4 days before starting the prep. They said I am on the schedule and it would be about 3-4 days before they could start. Thats fine, so they said we need to get colors now, so they are ready, so we delt with colors = just a slight change.
My husband and I went to work the next day and my neighbor (not one of the ones getting a paint job), text me and said, I like the new color (this was around 2pm). I thought, that is not possible, they just powerwashed yesterday. I got home at 6:30 pm and they were just finishing the whole job. I was furious. For starters, we own a $400,000 home, so it is not small. We needed a very good prep job, to prevent from peeling right away. So I called the company. They told me, with all the work they had lined up, they could not wait, as for we were on a schedule. I told them, there is no way I got a quality prep job, so they sent out Scott. He said, the paint job looks good and from sight it did. SO we paid and now here we are.
Last friday (now 2013 and 1 year ago painted), we get an hoa letter saying, you need to paint your exterior. I took the letter to the hoa and my invoice from vivax and told them we already painted, so they set a time to meet me at my house. For a year, I did not stare my house, in fact I didn't notice the paint job, since they finished. HOA rep. came by and walked my house with me. Eve's were peeling again and the south side had faded worse than before vivax painted. They said, sorry, you will need to call them back or get another paint job.
To not make my husband mad, I called vivax. They said we will send someone right over. 2 weeks later still waiting. Called them 2nd, 3rd time. My husband borrowed a 32' ladder and went up to the eve's to check what was going on. They painted right over the peeling paint, Wow! The weather was weathering the new paint job and I am right back to where we started last april. We talked to 2-3 neighbors and they are all unhappy with the quality vivax gave. I feel like a fool, going with a dirt cheap complany.
Our new paint company (which prepped for 1 full day, before even touching paint), said our house wasn't even prepped before. They said there were paint bubbles everywhere and after they scraped, we found chips all over the ground, which they cleaned up at the finish of the 4 day job (which we paid $3200). They said there was misses and light coats on all of the second level. From their take, they said the last company made sure the 1st level was ok, for that is what we would notice 1st. We are now happy and the hoa came by and signed us off.
Vivax is a rip off and they lie. Lying is all part of their sales, I get a call saying they are sorry for what happened and then I get on here and see they tell everyone sorry. I am soo thankful I did not fall for their 7 year warranty scam. My house did not even last a year and now I read reviews about not lasting 2 years.
Final word. I went to bbb and finely scrolled down past their A+ rating. 12 complaints on the same nature with them all being closed. Guess vivax pays the bbb and who knows who else to have an A+ rating with all the complaints they get.
Next stop. I am filing a complaint with the bbb, to see if they cover up for a company who is obviously paying them.
Best advise! You get what you pay for and beware of super low bids!
